Post-Covid-19, the first thing we'll do to spoil ourselves . . .

The lockdown isn't going to last forever, here in NZ we're three weeks into the scheduled four-week level 4 lockdown and we'll see how this continues but . . . it will end. Next month maybe? Who knows.

We discussed it today and the first thing we'll do on a week-end is go to Rotovegas/Rotorua so our youngest can have her birthday celebration with some friends . . . the luge tracks and connecting with the gondola are brilliant and the kids will have fun . . . and the buffet lunch is actually very good.

After this we'll go to the Polynesian Spa on Lake Rotorua . . .

This sounds very immature of me, but I'm gonna go get smashed with a group of friends.

Say goodbye to wives and girlfriends, jump in a couple of motors and head to a certain coastal town an hour or 2 south of Bangkok.

You can let rip in the bubbling pool with abandon and nobody suspects anything.

The Rotorua sulphur effluvium even lets the aroma fly under the radar.

Plans on "pause" at the moment:

5 days on Koh Chang, booked and now suspended until whenever.

4 week trip to UK (and France, to see some friends), also on hold.

Might have to take all four of me flagons down to the local craft beer dispensary and get the cupboards refilled with canned beans and tuna so I'm ready for the second wave.

If there's no second wave it might be enough to see me through till international flights start up again.

Very quiet now Harry, and most entertainments out lets are closed. The few local bars that are still open are empty, and obliged to close at 9pm.

Im enjoying the peace and quiet for now, but it can’t last forever. There has been an explosion of food delivery outlets, mostly among closed restaurants that are struggling to survive.
Shopping in Denpasar and Seminyak last week, with very little traffic, was actually quite pleasant, but restricted to food outlets.
Food, drink and smokes still available, so I’m ok. The poor locals who depend on tourism are proper screwed though. No social welfare or safety nets here.

Plenty of tourism staff have returned to their villages in Java, now the tourists have dried up.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to 2022 when this all settles down.

I know it's strange for a soap Dodger, but a nice relaxing hot bath would be more than enough once this is over. We were thinking of installing a tub in the downstairs bathroom. Something to make sure I have before the next lockdown.
