Draft Program Reveals Russia to Start Operating Full-Scale Lunar Base From 2036

Not sure where to put this. It is not space news and it is not really funny, it is rather sad, especially if you used to like the russian space program like me. But you can have a laugh if you want to.

"2036-2040: Start of operation of a full-scale lunar base. The delivery of large-volume cargoes and carrying out various scientific experiments at lunar testing sites," the document says.

Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin earlier said that the development of the lunar exploration program would take about three more months. It will be later submitted to Russian President Vladimir Putin and to the government for consideration.

It is a phantasy. Russian Roskosmos and the rocket builders produce them at high rate. Nothing ever comes of it.

Pure dumb conspiracy theory. The Soviet Union had the means to find out that it was for real when it happened. Even some radio amateurs had the needed equipment. They would have loved to expose the USA if it were a fake.

To be fair, there have been so many outrageous events that are not used "as a bargaining chip" by the Russians (sometimes to a surprise of many).
Unlike the other side will never miss a chance for a very loud trumpeting - and actions (sanctions) - if anything discovered "highly likely". Just look not so far back...
