Bali has deported six Australians so far this year amid crackdown on bad behaviour
Bali has already deported 93 foreigners from the island this year, leaving it well on track to surpass 2022, as the country seeks to crack down on bad behaviour.
According to local media, authorities are getting tougher on lawbreakers.
Bali Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Anggiat Napitupulu told the Bali Times that 93 foreigners in Bali had been deported from Indonesia between January 1 and April 17 this year.
That's already close to half of the 194 deportations recorded last year.
Australians are the third-worst offenders by nation, with six deported.
But Russians were the biggest rulebreakers, with 24 gone so far in 2023, followed by Nigerians with seven, and the US alongside Australia with six.
