There goes another thing....

So, back from work early, with a bit of time before dinner. Perfect time for a beer and a snack. Bit of cheese, a few olives and some pickles, nice cold beer. Lovely.

Beer. Check.
Cheese - nice piece of salty cheddar- check.
Pickles - check.
Olives - check - wtf???

One lonely olive bobbing in a jar of brine. What the hell - that was a full jar a couple of days ago.

"Sweetheart - what happened to the olives?"

"What are olives?"

"The small green things in the jar in the fridge. You know, the things you tried once and did not like".

"I tried them again, they really are good. I really like them now".


Fuck. I know however many bloody jars of olives I buy from now on, their delicious briny taste will be a distant memory.

I have noticed on your piccie threads. I am so jealous of her. I also live in a landlocked country and am a bit dubious of "fresh seafood", but they assure me that it arrived that morning and so far no probs. Apart from one oyster about 15 years ago.

I'm going to Bali today, I'll be sure to eat some fresh seafood on your behalf.
