Best cheap wine?
Got a bit tired of that Mont Clair muck that they sell in 7/11 and tried a few other cheap ones. The best so far and very good at any price never mind 279 baht, are the Berri Estates offerings. Australian and I have seen it in Big C and Tesco, they do a shiraz and a CS. Much better than Mont Clair and excellent value, well you can't get cheaper I don't think, any other good cheap one, under 500 baht? I would post a pic but the wine is taking effect.

You seem to have answered your own question.

Italian boxes in Big C are usually not too bad.

Hmmmm.... a topic close to home.
Well Tescos have a ' wine ' by Lakeside , red or white starting at about 140 for the white and 170 for the red. Not tried the white but for 170 , the red is not too bad , not withstanding the fact that it's a hybrid. Tasted worse in the UK for more than twice the price. A good effort for a cheapy.
Apart from this, the Peter something or other ( I forget ) wines are a lot better than the Mont Claire offerings. The Mont Claire are ok......and cheaper but the Peter .... are better , so smooth you hardly know its passing your tonsils. 279 baht a bottle but worth the extra. Supposed to be a blend of Californian Sauvignon and something else ( pineapple ) but whatever.....very nice.
The cheap pineapple wines from the big outlets are not too bad at about 149 a bottle. Not wine as we know it Jim but past the third glass and you seriosly don't care that much.
