I intend to do a bit of DIY at my new abode and I was wondering about the availability of Workmates, like this one.

They are rejected.
I have been told.
The non-sexy variety only, I'm afraid. :(
I was about to volunteer until I saw the photo (the first one).
^ You can still volunteer, 'cos you ain't sexy. :)
My girlfriend might know, but you'll have to say please!
I'll ask her on Saturday. I'll be up this weekend to kick the squatters out of my house.
Big party and bbq this Saturday so bring a bottle.
P.S.I'll give DD plenty of warning!
Havent you drunk that bottle of red yet?
I'll get a bottle of whiskey on standby.
I've got a couple of bottles in the fridge. One from January's trip to Ayutthaya and the one you gave me. I will save them for when I use my new Spanish BBQ.
On it's own you don't but you did a good job last time!
I saw them for sale in one of the big sheds in CM some time back and they were about 800 baht. When I went back to get one they had all sold.
Haven't seen them recently.
I've seen them in Homepro...going tomorrow so I'll check the prices for you...
^ Cheers Klongy.
klongy, wally reckons you have a beer gut.

You don't have to fire your staff. Just tell them there are a lot of ghost in the area. They will bugger off before the first cup of morning tea. They are in paradise; why should they work? There are unlimited snakes in your backyard, plus they can pluck endless bugs from your street lights. Protein source is confirmed. You gotta hire the Burmese if you want the job done quickly. Just threaten them with deportation and your tiles would be done by tomorrow.
[quote=kingwillyhggtb;187517]The whiskey ain't for you mate. It is for us hard workers - the teachers on semester break. Your job is to get your Thai workers in gear. Our job is to drink copious booze and start fires on your top floor. I have matches, do you have refridgration?
I think this thread needs cleaning up a bit...
Kolngy, that is not a gut, not at all but your legs are pretty white!
twas taken a year or two ago MM...
really for the benefit of my soccer-mad sons...
I'm a rugby man myself...
Rugger players are ment to have calf muscles..arn't they?:)
^I'm building my own workbench at the moment....went to Homepro and they had something that was about as stable as a dizzy 1 legged dog for 550 baht or the monster of all workbenches with built in circular saw and all that shit for 29,000 baht - nothing inbetween.
So, I spent 1k baht on some wood and had a go at building something myself...then I'll have to add vices and things like that on later....
Anyway, I'll have some pics if it doesn't fall down:)
I built my own work bench.Quote:

Cost me about 1000 baht for the bench part.
^Where did you get the vice from? What type? How much?
I looked at the solid metal vices in homepro, not suprisingly they were quite expensive, so I was wondering about getting a wooden vice....

You would be better off with a wood vise if you are doing carpenter type stuff.
I bought an engineers vise from a local hardware store.
It is crap compared to a good old english "record vise" but it sort of does the job.
I think it cost 6-700 baht.
