Any Americans worried at all if McCain gets elected and dies in office that this woman would be the leader of your country?
Quote:
Gushing compliments make Palin blush
NEW YORK, Sept 25: President Asif Ali Zardari’s enthusiastic and lavish praise for US vice-presidential candidate (Republican) Sarah Palin’s looks in front of television cameras has raised eyebrows here.
According to one report, on entering a room filled with several Pakistani officials on Wednesday afternoon, Ms Palin was immediately greeted by Information Minister Sherry Rehman.
“And how does one keep looking that good when one is that busy?,” Ms Rehman asked, drawing friendly laughter from the room when she complimented her. “Oh, thank you,” Ms Palin said.
When President Zardari entered the room seconds later, Ms Palin rose to shake hands, saying she was “honoured” to meet him.
Mr Zardari then called her “gorgeous” and said: “Now I know why the whole of America is crazy about you.”
“You are so nice,” Ms Palin said, smiling. “Thank you.”
A handler from Mr Zardari’s entourage then told the two politicians to keep shaking hands for the cameras. “If he’s insisting, I might hug,” said the president. Palin smiled politely.
Ms Palin, who is credited with igniting the lacklustre Republican presidential campaign after being picked by Senator John McCain as his running mate, did not answer questions from reporters at her first two appearances on Wednesday.
She joined Mr McCain in meetings with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, and then travelled downtown to meet Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.
When a reporter at the Zardari meeting asked her about her day, she said: “It’s going great. These meetings are very informative and helpful, and a lot of good people sharing appreciation for America.”

I guess she likes Zardari hitting on her. I hope she was just being nice when she said to Mr. Ten Percent that he is nice.
The self-professed 'pitbull' comes across more poodle-terrier-whippet cross.
A toothless one at that.
it's a shocker alright.
even jet said she came across badly in the Palin thread.
poor woman will be relieved to disappear back into obscurity come post election day.
Hard to believe this is the same woman that some on here were touting as the one to rip Obama/Biden a new one.
As I said in the other thread - it was unfair to bring her into this campaign, she is clearly not up to standard.
But then, how the hell did she become governor of Alaska . . . or even mayor of Wasilia . . . Jesus wept, someone like that would have no chance at home . . . even Hanson was smarter.
And Jet out her on the same plane as Merkel?
(Texas. Alaska. No diff)
^
troll??
it's quite easy to see why palin has been kept in the attic while Biden has given some 89 interviews in the same period.
bet she gets sick the night before the veep debates.
hope for her sake she does.
slow suicide.
Great interview and I think she will make a good VP for the Yanks. :)
my 16 year old niece would make a better VP
you stretch this trolling thing a bit far sometimes brit.Quote:

^No troll genuinely think she's a good fit for the role - even the Clintons think so. (course they want BO to lose, so that might be their objective)
you can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter
Couric the partisan hag
refuses to call Palin by her title, Gov.

i think most americans watching that interview have serious concerns about her competency.
if mccain strokes out tonight at the debate, is the RNC stuck with palin, of could they switch to someone who's actually marginally qualified to be president?
i'm thinking they're locked in, but perhaps someone here knows how they could get palin off the ticket.
Boon this "fk you" by Couric is definitely a demonstration of her petty prejudice. The woman is primitive and small to the point of being a political bigot. How can she call herself a professional reporter or professional journalist? She needs to find another form of work perhaps as a hack.
Any opinion on Bill O'Reilly's interviewing techniques??Quote:

Already commented on Palin's interview in other threads. Again, she didn't do well, IMHO.
you are probably right, each as bad as each other.
tell me honestly if you would feel confident of her being be a good leader for your country if McCain died while in office??
Geez, you can look at that both ways, Flash. Obama hasn't proven himself except in his slick rhetoric. To me, he would be scarier as prez coz he will use his Chicago political style to form his power base, deflect decisions and do stupid things like meeting leaders such as Ahmadejin without preconditions. If Palin had to take the lead, I think she would be smart enough to turn to her advisors, as all leaders do anyway.
More after the debates.
you don't elect advisors, you elect someone who is strong enough to make their own decisionsQuote:

You make a good point Jet. If Obama gets elected he must payoff those people who delivered votes and cash for him. There are thousands of political appointee jobs which will be filled with the likes of William Ayers. Radicals will be coming to Washington. Don't forget the payoffs to the religious leaders too. More religious people going to Washington. More mixing of church and state.
 And you are his love-child. Hey, even FOX criticised Palin's bunch for the lack of press interactionQuote:

^ Ah, yes, thank you for alerting me to that typo. Should be schadenfreude. How kind of you to point it out, but not surprising that you know it as you personify the meaning. Keep on with your mindless twitter, dear. The gods at least surely have hope for you.
^Pot kettle black, Jet
So why do you hate America ?

It's really not difficult to see that she is not in the same league, Biden will rip her a new one . . . even if he's not the sharpest tack in the box, he is going up against a blunt nailQuote:
Palin Problem
She’s out of her league.
By Kathleen Parker
If at one time women were considered heretical for swimming upstream against feminist orthodoxy, they now face condemnation for swimming downstream — away from Sarah Palin.
To express reservations about her qualifications to be vice president — and possibly president — is to risk being labeled anti-woman.
Or, as I am guilty of charging her early critics, supporting only a certain kind of woman.
Some of the passionately feminist critics of Palin who attacked her personally deserved some of the backlash they received. But circumstances have changed since Palin was introduced as just a hockey mom with lipstick — what a difference a financial crisis makes — and a more complicated picture has emerged.
As we’ve seen and heard more from John McCain’s running mate, it is increasingly clear that Palin is a problem. Quick study or not, she doesn’t know enough about economics and foreign policy to make Americans comfortable with a President Palin should conditions warrant her promotion.
Yes, she recently met and turned several heads of state as the United Nations General Assembly convened in New York. She was gracious, charming and disarming. Men swooned. Pakistan’s president wanted to hug her. (Perhaps Osama bin Laden is dying to meet her?)
And, yes, she has common sense, something we value. And she’s had executive experience as a mayor and a governor, though of relatively small constituencies (about 6,000 and 680,000, respectively).
Finally, Palin’s narrative is fun, inspiring and all-American in that frontier way we seem to admire. When Palin first emerged as John McCain’s running mate, I confess I was delighted. She was the antithesis and nemesis of the hirsute, Birkenstock-wearing sisterhood — a refreshing feminist of a different order who personified the modern successful working mother.
Palin didn’t make a mess cracking the glass ceiling. She simply glided through it.
It was fun while it lasted.
Palin’s recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity, and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League.
No one hates saying that more than I do. Like so many women, I’ve been pulling for Palin, wishing her the best, hoping she will perform brilliantly. I’ve also noticed that I watch her interviews with the held breath of an anxious parent, my finger poised over the mute button in case it gets too painful. Unfortunately, it often does. My cringe reflex is exhausted.
Palin filibusters. She repeats words, filling space with deadwood. Cut the verbiage and there’s not much content there. Here’s but one example of many from her interview with Hannity: “Well, there is a danger in allowing some obsessive partisanship to get into the issue that we’re talking about today. And that’s something that John McCain, too, his track record, proving that he can work both sides of the aisle, he can surpass the partisanship that must be surpassed to deal with an issue like this.”
When Couric pointed to polls showing that the financial crisis had boosted Obama’s numbers, Palin blustered wordily: “I’m not looking at poll numbers. What I think Americans at the end of the day are going to be able to go back and look at track records and see who’s more apt to be talking about solutions and wishing for and hoping for solutions for some opportunity to change, and who’s actually done it?”
If BS were currency, Palin could bail out Wall Street herself.
If Palin were a man, we’d all be guffawing, just as we do every time Joe Biden tickles the back of his throat with his toes. But because she’s a woman — and the first ever on a Republican presidential ticket — we are reluctant to say what is painfully true.
What to do?
McCain can’t repudiate his choice for running mate. He not only risks the wrath of the GOP’s unforgiving base, but he invites others to second-guess his executive decision-making ability. Barack Obama faces the same problem with Biden.
Only Palin can save McCain, her party, and the country she loves. She can bow out for personal reasons, perhaps because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first.
Do it for your country.

he's got to be careful though.
the republicans have already played the gender card (lipstick on a pig) and will be looking for any chance to make a huge drama out of the most innocuous remark.
I wouldn't mind giving Katie Couric a facial.
