last time i was there is was about 1 or 2 am....
Except they would often do a 'lock in' if a few customers wanted to continue drinking
Karaoke places open till 6.00am
and, just in case you wanted to know, barfines were/are 200 baht...

Back to the original question.
The usually enforced closing for most bars is 2 a.m., but there are Karaoke places and some bars that are allowed to stay open all night it seems. I don't know whether they pay more tea money or it is because they are in secluded locations but the best "after hours" location is between Bernies Bar and Billies Bar on a little walking soi that hits the main road going to Hua Hin beach about a block down from the main tourist (Sofitel, Hilton) street intersection. The entrance is on the left hand side in an area of rental cars and bikes. Look for the Billies bar sign in the middle of the beach market area and enter the small walking soi there between the shops.
If you make it to the beach road (side) entrance to the Sofitel, you've gone too far.

We just took the entire bar back to my room at closing time. Worked pretty well. :)
