I just saw a new pickup badged Tata. looks a bit like a SSangyong but the first one I've seen here. Aren't they a Indian company? I'd be interested to find out more about them.

Yes. They own Jaguar too. :(Quote:

Wonder how much they cost?
Why would you be interested to found out more?
Indian crap built by Thais:(
It looks wank.
Why to see if they are as crap as I think they will be of course!Quote:

I'd love to see Top Gear review some of their models. :)
Yeah, Chinks I think.Quote:

It was apparently so craptastic that the maker knew it would get slated so wouldn't give them a demo version/ James May had to go undercover to a dealership and take it for a test-drive. The salesman was with him and he was driving along talking away doing a 'review' without clueing the guy in - he was no doubt getting some odd looks! :)
Though the chinese bought Rover, not Range Rover.

^ never mind, she adds value to the thread, even though her legs are fat:)
So they are importing a crap tata pickup from India and not the Royal Enfields? Disappointing. Very disappointing.
Tata owns Landrover and Jaguar
Anyone got any prices on a 4 door pickup?
Indian versions have fuller chassis
DLE 539k BahtQuote:

^ How does that compare (roughly) with the Toyota's, Mitisubishi's etc? Favourably I'm imaging, but substantially so?
doesn't look worth it
^^
About 100k cheaper for the four door
But after three years depreciation will probably take a big dent out of that especially if it proves to be less reliable than a Toyota
Any pictures??
That's a substantial saving, 100k. Must be hard to break into a market though. I've never even seen one of these things and already I'm questioning its reliablity. If they can overcome that sort of perception and prove themselves they could do well at those prices.
It is even cheaper in India I believe
Cheers for those prices but at that level I wouldnt touch them with a bargepole.Quote:

Somehow I got the impression this car feels cheap.Quote:
Everything feels cheap. I know I said that before, but I can't over state that fact. Bearing in mind that the other trucks also have a cheap and utilitarian feel to them with lo grade plastics, and a general lack of attention to detail, it is saying something to criticise a pickup truck for feeling cheap.
I cannot compare the specs as the "English version" of their website only changes the headings and the text is still all in thai.Quote:
