Of the highest order. Greeted into power as a Liberator by the international community, he has single handedly turned Zimbabwe into an absolute hellhole. Once the Breadbasket of Africa, now the Basketcase of Africa. A good percentage of the street hookers in neighbouring Sth Africa are now Zimbabwean, and there have recently been riots there because of the influx of Zim refugees, and the competition for menial jobs that comes with it.

Does anyone have a single good thing to say about this bloke?

Anyway, voted out in the last 'elections'- in spite of the blatant intimidation campaign and electoral fraud carried out by his Goons, the Zanu PF. He's called 'Presidential run-off' elections, and the predictable Terror campaign against Opposition politicians and supporters is underway-

I'm no fan of the Burmese junta, but if you ask me the international community should keep them on the backburner until this arsehole is kicked out, and preferably dead. :(

When Mugabe travels abroad he should just be arrested and taken to the Hague, I am sure there will be enough evidence forthcoming to make the charges stick. As for ZANU PF they are the real problem in Zimbabwe, if I remember correctly every freedom fighter who fought during the war was promised land to farm.

Mugabe's desperation to remain in power is pathetic. He's offering humanitarian-donated food to people in return for their identity papers (required for voting). I really don't think his public image can get worse.

the really sad thing is that morgan t claims victory in that he won 51% of the vote. if you consider that his only real opposition, mad bob mugabe probably won the other 49%, what does it say about the voters in zimbabwe?
mugabe is not unique in africa. it took the world this long to notice him, that is all. i see that the idiot was actually awarded honorary degrees by some ill-advised international universities, who also took a decade or two to realise what a twat this guy is :rofl:

Robert Mugabe's militia burn opponent’s wife alive


The men who pulled up in three white pickup trucks were looking for Patson Chipiro, head of the Zimbabwean opposition party in Mhondoro district. His wife, Dadirai, told them he was in Harare but would be back later in the day, and the men departed.


An hour later they were back. They grabbed Mrs Chipiro and chopped off one of her hands and both her feet. Then they threw her into her hut, locked the door and threw a petrol bomb through the window.

Won't name the main offending country as the last time I done this I got a red (BUT EVERYONE KNOWS ANYWAY).

What is needed is to create stories of nuclear proliferation, manufacture of weapons of mass destruction, chemicals weapons etc and the mighty mouth of the world will spring into action and wipe this muderous animal out.

sabang,i found this just as i was watching bbc news, a village of people who had fought back were giving an interview, they said they will vote against him

I think we need to see Mr. Mugabe in the Hague. I am sure there are "in country' issues that he and Zanu PF are responsible for. I remember when everyone said that Ian Smith and the the white ruling party were exploiting the people.
Mr.Smith will be turning in his grave now after seeing what this megalomaniac has done to what was once the most prosperous nation in Africa. He leaves Zimbabwe to travel on a regular basis just lift him and transport him to the Hague for trial. I would like the same for the Burmese junta leaders but they do not travel so frequently.

Fidelity Printers & Refiners, the state-owned company that tirelessly churns out bank notes for the Mugabe regime, was thrown into a crisis early this month after a German company stopped supplying bank note paper because of concerns over Zimbabwe's recent violent presidential election, widely seen as fraudulent by international observers.
The printing operation slowed drastically. Two-thirds of the 1000-strong workforce was ordered to take leave, and two of the three money-printing shifts were cancelled.
The result on the streets was an immediate cash crunch.
"If you think this currency shortage is bad, wait two weeks. By then it will be a disaster," said a senior Fidelity staffer, who spoke on condition of anonymity. The paper will run out in two weeks, he said....

Despite the recent currency shortage, the Zimbabwe dollar has continued to slide against the US dollar and shopkeepers are increasing prices steeply.
Before the crunch, a beer at a pub in Harare cost $15 billion. At 5pm on July 4, it cost $100 billion ($US4 at the time) in the same bar. An hour later, the price had gone up to $150 billion ($US6).

It's almost hard to believe now that there was genuine hope, excitment and a sense of promise for the future when Mugabe first came to power. :(

^ I have seen the mansionesque home of Grace Mugabe near Borrowdale Brook (sp?) in Harae. Huge it is. Very impressive and stately looking.
