Here’s one good for a laugh.
Doctor Laughs in Top Southern California Republican’s Face as He Asks About Vaccine Tracking Device
One of Southern California’s top Republican lawmakers asked a doctor if there’s a tracking device inside the coronavirus vaccines being given to residents—and got the exact response he deserved. Don Wagner, a member of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, asked his question during a Tuesday meeting to discuss the possibility of vaccine passports—but he let his imagination run away with him. “Is there any intention of tracking folks?” Wagner asked OC Health Care Agency Director Dr. Clayton Chau, who replied “Nope.” Undeterred, Wagner went on: “Is there any, in the vaccine, we heard about the injection of a tracking device. Is that being done anywhere in Orange County?” Dr. Chau paused for a second before letting out a laugh and saying: “I’m sorry, I just have to compose myself. There is not a vaccine with a tracking device embedded in it that I know of that exists in the world. Period.”

CNN can hardly take the high moral ground. Their hilarious and amateurish blunder of publishing a photo of a Ukrainian train carrying Ukrainian tanks towards the Russian border as 'proof' that Russian tanks were carrying Russian tanks towards the Ukrainian border as a precursor to a possible Russian invasion was bad enough. But their subsequent failure to even retract or apologise for this blatantly false information, rather just quietly take the photo down from their website, puts them right in the lowest cadre of fake journalism and shoddy propaganda. They have no journalistic morals or integrity remaining. Thus I am not the least interested in watching their Youtube video, or anything else from them. :chitown:
Well you won't find it on CNN now- but Sputnik have faithfully kept a copy for posterity!
CNN Raises Eyebrows After Using Images of Ukrainian Tanks While Bashing Russia's 'War Preparations' - Sputnik International (sputniknews.com)
"Dear CNN TV channel and its staff. We realize that you have no time for fact-checking, since you’re so immersed in ideological struggle for the triumph of liberalism," she wrote in a Facebook post. "But to present Ukrainian tanks at a Ukrainian train station, with Ukrainian train carriages in the background, as Russia’s preparations for war is a bit too much."
MSM sources that have some shred of credibility include Al Jaz (imo the Best), Guardian, BBC, NYT, ABC. But if you want to get anything like a balanced picture, you've got to spread your net wider too- China daily or CGTN, RT or Sputnik, I think Press daily worth a look too.
Sadly, our media complex is nothing to be proud of anymore.
By the way, CNN have not removed it, so we are still relying on your RT/Sputnik/TASS putin propaganda mouthpieces to determine the truth.....
Ukraine border: As Russia masses its troops President Zelensky heads to the trenches - CNN
Oh, they have removed the offending picture alright. But well spotted 'arry- at the 5.40 mark in that video above, they are still misleadingly showing Ukrainian tanks being transported towards Russia by rail as proof of a Russian military build up. No retraction, or apology. No credibility left.
CNN = Credibility Nil Null
Who cares about facts? They have no use in a propaganda and brainwashing...
"Sadly, our media complex is nothing to be proud of anymore."
True Propaganda, Brutus? :chitown:
Let's see now: A respected global news source that is not state controlled says one thing.
Your Putin-controlled propaganda sources trot out a contrary party line in sync that contradicts it.
And you're wondering why there is no retraction?
And you keep posting this as if it is somehow evidence that Putin isn't massing troops on the border.
You vladbots aren't very bright.
So you are an anarchist ? You hold non state media in a higher regard than state media ? For what ?
Some ppl believe that state media is more trustworthy than corporate/oligarch media and I think its an interesting point. But it just goes against the Anglo American worldview that we are all over exposed to.
Who's more trusting ? The UK and Russian govt ? Or Rupert Merdoch and Roger Ails ? I'd say the UK and Russian govt.
Formerly respected. Journalism, like most every profession, has a code of practise and ethics. The fact CNN made a rather amateurish mistake is one thing- but lets just say it can and does happen. But that is easily handled, and is standard practise. You publish a retraction, often (although not necessarily) accompanied with an apology. By conspicuously failing to do so, CNN has joined the ranks of trashy journalism and two bit propagandists. I would have thought they would have valued their reputation and journalistic integrity more than that.Quote:
A respected global news source that is not state controlled says one thing.
This is an opinion, and I hope that I am right, but I believe each of the following publications would have had the professional integrity and courtesy to have published a retraction-
Quote:
Al Jaz (imo the Best), Guardian, BBC, NYT, ABC.
A couple of amateurish attempts at conflating the issue have not gone unnoticed- I just have not been bothered commenting. Until now. I never said, or insinuated, that Russia had not moved military forces closer to the Ukrainian border- indeed, I am well aware that they have. Just as has Ukraine moved forces closer to the Russian border- as comically illustrated by that footage CNN got so tragically wrong. Of course they both say "you started it". I'm not even bothered looking further into it.
The issue I raised was quite simply CNN's blunder, and subsequent appalling lack of journalistic integrity and professional courtesy. It is not a small thing- it does matter. CNN has just demonstrated that it has absolutely no respect for you, it's viewer/ readership. It has treated you like idiots, easily duped.
Repeating falsehoods doesn't make them true and don't talk to us about ethics when you have a clear penchant for propaganda. The very fact that CNN pointed out the error, and it was a minor one from which you're trying to extrapolate thinking that someone will buy this lame assertion, is proof that the only idiot is you.
Absolutely true, why does the press do it so often? But CNN was factually, photographically proven wrong, hilariously so.:smileylaughing: It's failure to retract speaks volumes.Quote:
Repeating falsehoods doesn't make them true
Yeh, lets get back on topic. Republican lunacy deserves a thread of it's own, CNN's blunder and subsequent churlishness does not.
What happened to the traditional Republicans? I would have counted myself among them if I was amerkin. This guy is one:-
Off Course
Over the years, the Republican Party abandoned fiscal conservatism and walked away from social responsibility. They became an ugly blend of selfish libertarianism and neoliberalism. The values and ideals I learned to associate with the Republican Party seemed to vanish.
I tried the Democratic Party. I even tried on the Green Party. I just could not find a fit.Back to My Roots
Maybe the progressive conservative ideals I believe never existed in a political party? But when I look to the past, I find many examples of great leaders who have advocated for the values and ideals I believe. There may not be a party that represents my values and ideals, but
I can be the change I want to see in the Party.
I aspire to be a "Good Republican."
Maybe I'm a lone Republican
Republican — Jim Evans (jimevansforcongress.com)
Anyway, he ran for the 2014 elections as a Democrat- and lost heavily (it's one of the most staunchly Republican seats in the USA).
He challenged the Republican incumbent in the 2018 primaries, as a moderate or Eisenhower Republican- and lost, heavily.
He wants to go again, in 2021. Sorry Jim, but you're a lone true Republican in that Missouri backwater. Anyone seen Ozark? :chitown:

Immigration
Long supported President Donald Trump's 2017 executive order banning entry to the U.S. to citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries.[21]
Abortion
Long opposes abortion, stating he is "100% pro-life" on his website. He opposes the 1973 United States Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade and said that the judiciary deciding abortion's legality does not give the American people the opportunity to decide for themselves through elected representatives. Long said on his congressional website: "When the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade in 1973, it threw open the doors for abortion without giving the people an opportunity to make their views known on the issue through their elected representatives. The judicial protection for abortion has unfortunately continued in opposition to the expressed will of the majority of the people." Long supports cutting federal funding to Planned Parenthood and is a member of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus.[22]
Objections to the 2020 election results
After Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election and Donald Trump refused to concede, Long pushed baseless claims of fraud in the election.[23]
In December 2020, Long supported an amicus brief in support of Texas v. Pennsylvania, a lawsuit filed at the United States Supreme Court contesting the results of the 2020 presidential election based on false and unsubstantiated allegations of fraud.
Billy Long - Wikipedia
Onya billybob. As they say, in a Democracy you may not get he government you want- but you do get the government you deserve. Sigh.
Nice find Sabang. That man has the values of Eisenhower and most of the American people in the 50s. Eisenhower was the greatest post-war president inmo. During his presidency the rich were taxed at a nominal rate of 90%, and it was the period of America with the least income inequality as well as prosperity, he also warned about the military industrial complex.
The current monster that is the GOP is going to die a horrible death it will go the way of the Whigs and will be replaced by a new party.
THE BULLSHIT FACTORY FOX NEWS.
What say you deeks?
Jim Acosta tears into debunked Fox News 'nothingburger' - YouTube
There are still several in and out of government and although it will take time I believe they will win the Trump caused civil war in the current party.
When I became eligible to vote way back in the day, I registered as a Republican and remain so today. The reason as I reckon most new voters register for a party is because of parental influence. In my case, pop was a staunch Eisenhower supporter and what he had to say to me about good stuff Eisenhower did.
Although far too many folks simply vote along party lines, I don't no matter how difficult it may be. Trust me, voting for Hillary near made me vomit but was a must do. Trump won because Republicans came out and voted while far too many Dems sat on their hands. In my opinion blame Trump's win on a Dem failure. Their choice of candidates and their inability to get out the vote are to blame for the 4 years of damage Trump caused. A hard lesson in "elections have consequences".
So here we are today. Biased media espousing the virtues of their political sway and piling blame on the folks with opposing political views.
All and they labels of course must be used even though simply bullshit. None the less their compliant audiences eat the BS up. Btw, nothing new. This sort of stuff existed since forever in the US and other nations.
Even see it here in our wee TD world. "All" those (your guys here) are no fucking good! "They" deserve a good rogering in the ass!
Suggest all step away from the hate merchants and give a bit of thought to their BS messages.
Koolaide comes in many flavors. ;)
"If the Republican party existed in a different country, there would be consensus in the US that it had become an authoritarian, anti-democracy party"
Nice post Nort.
Indeed I do. But apparently, in this 'take no responsibility' era, it wasn't their fault at all. It was Russian hackers! Which makes the Dems sound every bit as loony as the trumpistas.Quote:
In my opinion blame Trump's win on a Dem failure
And of course, that is why the Dems lost.

I clicked on a link "What to do when your septic alarm is going off" but it wasn't about US politics.:deadhorsebig:
Republicans' are highly conflicted individuals to the point of sounding schizophrenic
They profess a desire for less government unless government supports their agenda, such as reproductive rights, religion, end of life, capital punishment, sex, etc, at which point government intervention is not only fine but highly desirable.
