Try drinking cheers beer.

Then you will appreciate Chang.
Guinness.
Guiness isn't beer, it's a stout.
Draught beer is only as good as it's kept & keeping it well costs money, so I wouldn't expect to find a decent pint anywhere.
Tiger is about as good as any local draught, but very few bars know how to keep their draught, or just don't bother.
I stick to bottles.
I'm with Marmers on Guinness although I have been known to resort to Mackeson when there was no Guinness to be had.

Guinness with fresh Cod and chips. Heaven.
Stout is a beer, dickhead.Quote:

Stick to bottles. (San Mig Light or Corona for me)..
Not very helpful I know, but needed to get my post count up to 10 so I could post a trip report..
Is this a trick question?
We tried the Leo lager shite on draught in the bar!!Sold alot but we also had a free bbq and live music.
Next on the list is Singha.:)
Yeah stick to bottles, Leo aint too bad, but why drink draught pish when u can have a cold bottle on the go permamently, instead of having a slightly warm bit o beer at the bottom of ur glass....
draught is cheaper
hic! :friday:
Heineken = bland
Chang = hangover from hell
Archa = not palatable
Leo = Yum
Singha = not bad
Where's the cheapest place I can buy Guinness?
^I wonder if they deliver?:)

Guiness is my first choice in Thailand. Klosters is second -- kwam suk tii kuhn deum dai (Happiness you can drink)
First choice worldwide is Fat Tire.
New Belgium Brewing Company - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Erdinger gets my vote - and no, i'm not a kraut.
Fat Tire is a damn fine, drinkable beer. The Best Beer, bar none, has got to be Tasmanian Devil Ale, from Buffalo Bills Brewery, Pub and Restaurant, Hayward California.
Buffalo Bill's Brewery, Pub and Restaurant in Hayward, California
Worth a thirty mile drive for a pastrami sandwich, a few pints and a couple half gallon Jugs to go. Best beer I have ever tasted.
The best bottled beer in Thailand, is Tiger, and the Tiger girls are scrummy too, not that I have tasted them.
The best draught beer in Thailand is at Tawan Deng in rama 3
The best production beer in the worl is Cascade.

I quite like the 'TsingTao' Chinese beer - you can buy big bottles for 75B at certain places - better than any of the Thai made 'homebrew'
Go to the Houston Hotel in Hua Hin attached to the hotel on the ground floor is a pub/ restaurant that has a micro brewery, I cant remember the name of it, they have got 5 or 6 types of beer i think.. Definitely the best draught beer by far i have ever had in LOS...
Does anybody know where I am talking about
Possibly. I did a thread about it once.Quote:

Shame on you!!!
I have to admit Adnams broadside is not a bad beer, for an Brit brew, but am more a fan of German dark beers myself.
So Marmite, enlighten us pleeze, what do you consider is the best draught beer availble in Thailand ?
Fat Tire. That's good beer. However, the Rams are not doing so good.
I prefer beer lao see dam in Thailand.
No draft, only bottles.
Jeez. Now I'm struggling.Quote:

I would say that Guinness is the best beer in Thailand, but only until Old Speckled Hen returns (soon, I've heard).
I'm not a big fan or German beers (too gassy) or Belgian beers (too gassy & too strong) and lager is the beer equivalent of LeiBfraumilch.
i like the kilkenny in the pickled liver soi 11, guiness here is ok too
bulls head is universally shite at pulling beer, a shame since its my favourite watering hole
lager isnt too bed in the dubliner, bit gassy mind
always had a good pint in bourbon street to be honest
most everywhere else in suk is shit on drafts (sweeping statement)
Lots of enjoyable and palatable posts here,cant seriously consider the cheap lgers, red horse,thing - sao, and cheers, all of which are trying to get a share of the market, they only taste good if your skint, their emphasis is on preservation, so its pumped full of formaldahide,which, is frowned upon, by the European quality laws.
This is why, previous posts drew attention to the expense incured by maintaining a high standard of draught beer, here and in any tropical climate.
In an aircon bar, you will acheive the best ,indeed, if you see any draught in an outside bar, forget it, and in my opinion, it is negligent,criminal even of any supplier to provide draught under said conditions.
When a fresh keg of Guinness is connected/opened, it has a life of 5 days, then it rapidly deteriorates, the same can be said of, John Smiths, (5) Killkenny (6) Strongbow (7-10),although many of you will say, thats bollocks, it aint like that in the UK, sure, I know Guinness, and Cider, are both considered eternal by brewery stocktakers. That would therefore conclude,that all of the above are void of harmful additives,as required by European brewing standards.Hence the title of my post................draught beer is good for you, I know, I sell 25, 12, 5, 5, of the above per month, in Pattaya. I will not piss you off with a free plug, only if you ask me, LMAO.
All the best,to my fellow draught drinking brothers. Cheers. "Guinness is good for you!"
Guinness has embarked on a QC crusade here in Thailand.
It is insisting that it's draught is only served in Air Con pubs, or the barrel kept in a seperate climate controlled store room for non air con Bars.
Good on 'em.
True enough.Quote:

A good beer really doesn't like to be stored at 25 - 40 DegC and then have its temperature forced down to 3 - 5 DegC.
You really can notice the difference between the few places that have a proper cold room and those that don't.
Asia-Fluid, John Smiths parent company here, also provides Strongbow,and they have the same q/c criteria as Guinness,their Technician 'Top-Gun', (Thong) was poached from Guinness,just to whet your appetites, you lager louts, they are about to introduce Kronenberg 1300, draught to their portfolio, jeez, I can't drink it, massive headaches the following day, I don't get out of bed, i get out of a coma!
Personally, I think they're making a big mistake.
Marmite, absolutely true,no cellars, however, when a cold room is available, there is a unacceptable distance from keg to dispense, the run usually counteracts the benefits, Ideally, less than a pint, from keg to dispense head, mmmm, perfect.
The only two I know of that are reasonable close are the Dubliner and the British Club.Quote:
