After 4 minutes, I'd seen enough video of scummy council estates and their residents to last a life time thanks. :)
The accents were all part of the show. I thought it was hilarious, chase the t.v. license man down the road.

Bloody marvelous that...as it happens, I just paid mine as the BBC is the only channel that doesn't have adverts, although there is the usual annoying self promotions..I just didn't want all of that crap on top of all the other nanny state money grabbing bollocks one has to deal with here in Englandistan.
Anyway, UKIP were 50-1 at Corals the other day to win the May election, so I stuck a ton on it..also stuck a nifty on Arse to win the Champions league at 22-1 as they're on the up...nowt to do with the BBC or other fascist corps..just saying like.

^The impression was that the license checkers seemed to be very polite, with the exception of the first clip where he took a swing at the cameraman. They'd most likely been on a one day course on how to handle being recorded.
I'm all in favour of refusing to pay the license. The BBC should be paid for by the groups it supports, pedos, UKIP, the Labour party. If that is insufficient then there's always actual advertising.
I have never Paid for a TV license, not required in Aust or NZ, and they Poms say that we are stupid.
I think the BBC is a fine institution. Whose going to make all the wildlife shows and documentaries? Maybe a PBS style system would work but not after all these years.
User pay is the modern "business" model for stingy, cheap people who don't want to pay for anything, it won't fly either.

i believe under english law you are supposed to supply free and safe access to your front door. ie the normal footpath. as soon as a visitor steps off the foot path it is trespass. as i understand the law, if you deny right of access, you must supply a means of communication, ie, from front gate.Quote:

the licence fee is a bone of contention to many, as are the haughty methods the bbc uses to enforce compliance.

it's funding model is the same. Go to the ballet, you buy a ticket.

That said, national broadcasters are a bit of a dinosaur, they don't perform the purpose for which they were created which was to provide news and content unbiased by commercial considerations.

The TV license fee was understandable when there was only one channel to watch and nothing else to watch on TV, DVDs or videos . So, if you had a TV , you were watching the BBC .
Nowadays people can choose to have Sky TV , so people should be able to opt out of viewing the BBC on TVs and therefore not have to pay .
I did have a TV , but I never watched the BBC , so I didnt get a licence . I may have watched the occasional live sports event , but I watched it free, I didnt feel watching such a minimal amount of content was worthy of paying such a large yearly fee

Dear oh Dear...those poor little socialists are just trying to sign you up for something you really need. :-). I am a really big fan of the BBC World Service and it kept me sane for 20 years in the US. It was actually free (through a live link-up) via WNYC NPR for four hours every night. Payment was strictly voluntary though i was quite glad to throw them a shilling or two whenever their annual appeal came round...
I mean for Christ's sake, you've seen what the alternative is, if you rely on Fox News - that dumbass Jeanine Piro saying that Manchester is a "no-go area for non-Muslims".
