i shall:). Here's my reckoning behind it, It was Man U's home record last year that let them down. If the league was judged only on away results, they would have come third. All we need now is a vuvuezela shop at Old TraffordQuote:

Mauricio Pochettino: Tottenham appoint Southampton boss
Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager on a five-year deal.
The Argentine resigned from Southampton after 18 months with the club.
The 42-year-old becomes Tottenham's 10th manager since 2001 and replaces Tim Sherwood who was sacked on 13 May.
"This is a club with tremendous history and prestige and I am honoured to have been given this opportunity to be its head coach," Pochettino told the Spurs website.
Pochettino fact file
Pochettino's assistant Jesus Perez, first team coach Miguel D'Agostino and goalkeeping coach Toni Jimenez have also left Southampton to join him at Spurs.
- Born 2 March 1972 in Santa Fe
- Played for Newell's Old Boys, Espanyol, PSG and Bordeaux
- While with Espanyol he won the Copa del Rey twice: 1999-2000, 2005-06
- Capped 20 times Argentina, scoring two goals.
- Took charge at Espanyol in January 2009.
- Named Southampton boss on 18 January 2013
- Secured notable wins over Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea
"There is an abundance of top-class talent at the club and I am looking forward to starting work with the squad," he added.
"Tottenham Hotspur has a huge following across the world and I have great admiration for the passion the fans show for this team.
"We are determined to give the supporters the kind of attacking football and success that we are all looking to achieve."
The former Espanyol boss took over at Southampton in January 2013, when he replaced Nigel Adkins, and led them to eighth place in the Premier League.
His future at St Mary's had been in question, following the departure of chairman Nicola Cortese in January.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said: "He has a proven ability to develop each player as an individual, whilst building great team spirit and a winning mentality."
Southampton chairman Ralph Krueger said: "We will be looking for a manager that shares our values, our principles and our philosophy; a manager who can continue to grow the first team."
It means absolutely nothing if he doesn't.Quote:

There is a vacuum at Man U that will only be partially filled by Van Gaal imo.
The absence of European football means the club runs the risk of only being able to get mercenaries, not winners.
The inevitable demotion of Rooney behind RvP is also liable to cause considerable friction.
I certainly see them finishing below spurs.

Liverpool are close to agreeing a deal for Southampton and England striker Rickie Lambert for a fee of around £4m plus add-ons.
The Reds are hopeful Lambert will be able to complete a medical on Saturday before flying out to Miami with the England squad on Sunday.
The Liverpool-born forward is intent on leaving St Mary's this summer.
Southampton rejected a similar bid from West Ham in January but are set to cash in on the 32-year-old.

- Blackpool 3 games 0 goals (1998-2000)
- Macclesfield 49 games 10 goals (2001-2002)
- Stockport 110 games 19 goals (2002-2005)
- Rochdale 68 games 28 goals (2005-2006)
- Bristol Rovers 155 games 59 goals (2006-2009)
- Southampton 235 games 117 goals (2009-present)
Southampton have turned down Liverpool's initial offer for Lambert, but talks are continuing and if Saints receive a bid they deem acceptable they will not stand in his way.
There has been interest in Lambert from other Premier League clubs, but it is understood he is currently only considering Liverpool.
Lambert spent five years as a youth player at Anfield before being released as a 15-year-old and he still supports the Reds.
He scored 14 goals in 39 games this season and has 117 in 235 appearances since joining Southampton from Bristol Rovers in 2009.
Liverpool remain in talks with Southampton over deals for both England midfielder Adam Lallana, 26, and Croatia defender Dejan Lovren, 24.
The Anfield club have also made an enquiry for Sevilla full back Alberto Moreno, 21, and told the Spanish side they are willing to pay as much as £16m for the player.
Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has left to take over at Tottenham, and the Saints have already turned down offers this summer for Lallana and left-back Luke Shaw, from Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.
The south coast club, who finished eighth in the Premier League, are under no financial pressure to sell and are determined not to be pressurised into sanctioning deals by suitors keen to make signings before the World Cup

Arsene Wenger has signed a three-year deal to remain Arsenal manager.
Wenger has led Arsenal to eight major trophies since arriving in September 1996 and will now stay until 2017.
The 64-year-old has just guided the Gunners to a 17th consecutive Champions League qualification and ended a nine-year wait for silverware with victory over Hull in the FA Cup final.
"We are entering an exciting period. We have a strong squad, financial stability and huge support," he said.
"The club has always shown faith in me and I'm very grateful for that.
"We have gone through fantastic periods and also periods where we have had to stick together. Every time when that togetherness was tested I got the right response.
"I think I have shown some loyalty as well towards this club and hopefully we can make some more history. I am sure we can."
The Frenchman's previous contract was set to expire this summer.
Arsenal had not lifted a major domestic trophy since 2005 prior to the recent FA Cup triumph, although they did reach the Champions League final in 2006

Frank Lampard: Chelsea midfielder to leave Stamford Bridge
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has announced that he is to leave the club after 13 years at Stamford Bridge.
The 35-year-old England international, Chelsea's all-time leading scorer with 211 goals, was out of contract.
Since joining from West Ham, Lampard had helped the club to three Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2012.
Lampard has yet to decide if he will retire, but has had offers from 16 other clubs.
The midfielder, who is currently with the England squad in Miami ahead of the World Cup, will not consider any of the offers until after the tournament finishes.
After joining from West Ham for £11m in June 2001, Lampard made 649 appearances for Chelsea, who also won four FA Cups, two League Cups and the Europa League in his time at the west London club.
^ I don't think he'll be playing football next season.
He'll be playing soccer instead.
Heading for the Major League I reckon.
Frank probably thinks it should be called 'Minor League' :)
Cesc Fabregas has completed his transfer to Chelsea from Barcelona, the Spain midfielder has announced in a statement.
#The 27-year-old is currently in Brazil with the national squad but has put pen to paper on a deal that sees him return to England after leaving Arsenal for the Nou Camp in 2011.
He is believed to have signed a five-year contract for a fee in the region of £30million.
With Barcelona having failed to win any silverware last season and the appointment of Luis Enrique as the new head coach, Fabregas was allowed to leave Spain and he revealed that Chelsea was his preferred option from those who had made their interest known.
"I considered all the other offers very carefully and I firmly believe that Chelsea is the best choice," he said.
"They match my footballing ambitions with their hunger and desire to win trophies. They have an amazing squad of players and an incredible manager. I am fully committed to this team and I can't wait to start playing."
He didn't consider Arsenal's offer very carefully because they never made one.
So if Arsenal and Barcelona don't want him, something must be up.
Personal problems?
Well Barcelona won nothing and need to rebuild and Arsenal's priority can't be midfielders, surely?
More likely Barca just don't consider him a key player in a champions league and spanish league winning side.Quote:

Well that's what i was saying, basically.
Not sure who's forgotten it - you're the guy going on about 'personal problems' possibly being the reason few clubs competed with Chelsea for him.
I think it's a combination of reasons, but there is a tiny minority of anti-Wenger tweeners who seem to think it's worth 30m + 200k a week to bring a player in to provide cover for Ramsey, just because he *used* to play for us.
Naturally the red tops are blowing them up into a story that in reality does not exist.
FWIW Southend suffered from a goal drought last season so the manager plans to buy a new striker.
Hopefully not someone with a zimmer frame and arthritis.
Gutted, Salisbury City FC relegated from the Conference for not paying their bills before the deadline.
The new Moroccan owner, who promised to provide camels for supporters who wished to travel to the ground has been quite rightly banned from the club.

Ronald Koeman: Southampton name Dutchman as new manager
Southampton have appointed Ronald Koeman as their new manager.
The former Netherlands international has agreed a three-year deal to replace Mauricio Pochettino who took over at Tottenham last month.
Koeman, 51, resigned from his job at Feyenoord in May after guiding the club to second place in the Eredivisie.
"Southampton have a talented first-team squad, a world-class academy and the infrastructure to sustain success in the Premier League," he said
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2014/06/1746.jpg
Ronald Koeman will be joined at Southampton by his brother Erwin and Jan Kluitenberg</SPAN abp="474">
"From my very first meeting with executive director Les Reed, I could see clearly that this was the right club for me. We share the same philosophy of football and the same belief in how to develop the club.
"The opportunity to continue the development of this famous football club was simply too good to turn down. I cannot wait to get started."
His brother, Erwin, has been appointed as assistant after he left his coaching role at Dutch club RKC Waalwijk.
“The club, the players and the fans will all be excited to have a man of Ronald's experience at the very highest level joining our club” - Les ReedThe pair will be joined by Jan Kluitenberg, who takes up the role of assistant first team coach/physical coach. Kluitenberg worked with Koeman at Vitesse Arnhem, Benfica, AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord.
The trio will be assisted by Southampton's existing first-team support staff, while the club will be recruiting a high-level goalkeeping coach in the near future.
Koeman already has a list of players he would like to bring to St Mary's, with BBC Radio Solent reporting Feyenoord midfielder Lex Immers, 28, as his top transfer target.
However, keeping players at the club will be one of his immediate challenges, with England pair Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana the subject of interest elsewhere.
The search for Southampton's new manager was led by Reed, who hailed the arrival of the Dutchman.
"We are extremely pleased to have secured a new manager of Ronald Koeman's calibre and status within the game," said Reed.
"From the moment we met with Ronald, it was clear he had the vision and ambition to take our club forward, that he shared our football philosophy and could see the opportunity to move our club to the next level.
"The club, the players and the fans will all be excited to have a man of Ronald's experience at the very highest level joining our club."
Koeman will discover his first opponents in English football on Wednesday, when the 2014-15 Premier League fixtures are released.
His honours as a player include winning the 1988 European Championship with the Dutch national team, the European Cup - now the Champions League - with PSV Eindhoven in 1988 and Barcelona in 1992 as well as domestic league titles in the Netherlands and Spain.
He played 763 games for club and country, scoring 253 goals, including the winner for Barcelona against Sampdoria in the 1992 European Cup final at Wembley.
His managerial career has taken in spells at Vitesse, Ajax, Benfica, PSV, Valencia and AZ Alkmaar, before he joined Feyenoord in July 2011
Bit disconcerting that there are no big signings at Old Trafford yet.
Hope we aren't repeating last seasons mistakes
That means they aren't queuing up to go there...isn't Van Gall otherwise engaged...smart move that...run the ship without a manager during the off deasonQuote:

Luis Suarez is a kunt!
2nd season on the trot he'll start with a ban, 12 fukkin games this time !
"Liverpool are taking legal advice after facing up to another nightmare scenario with Luis Suárez after their top-scoring striker last season departed the World Cup in disgrace with a four-month ban from all football imposed for biting an opponent. Fifa’s independent disciplinary committee imposed a World Cup record ban on the 27-year-old of nine international matches as well as the four-month-long total ban that will devastate Liverpool’s plans for the new season.
It would keep him out for at least 12 club games – nine Premier League matches plus three Champions League games, and potentially a League Cup match too – before a return at the end of October."
