A Good Idea!

Personally myself I think that this is a good idea,Why should'nt some one who is receiving more in benefits than the national minimum wage do a bit of worth while work for the community? back there in Manchester were I came from the place was rife with work shy loafers with many doing cash in hand jobs in the black economy ,and from what my 3 kids have told me little has changed , Society is keeping these people ,its way overdue that they paid society back!Pick up litter for your dole: Long-term unemployed would also clean up graffiti or cook for the elderly in Tory 'work for benefits' crackdown | Mail Online

Terrific idea. As a Yank, I've always believed that America's fat, spoiled young should have to do two years of some sort of national service between high school and college/real employment. Might teach the slackers something. I think ANYONE receiving welfare or food stamps should have do do community service, depending on how much they're gouging the working taxpayer for - if they are stealing $890 a month, that should be divided by the minimum wage to compute how many hours of community service they must complete - BEFORE getting their check. Fucking fat slackers. Being unemployed and living off my tax dollar sure doesn't keep them out of McDonalds - or from all smoking.

Australia tried a work for the dole scheme, IIRC it was menial work such as trash collecting, charity work or vocational training.
It didnt work and was tossed out on some legal pretext.
Main problem was the dole is below minimum wage.

Its a bloody stupid idea as it depraves people of work by introducing free labour into the market .

In my opinion ALL benefits should just be stopped , then there would be NO unemployment .

BTW you mention your 3 kids back home ,, as someone who has paid over £640000 in tax during my working life and claimed sweet FA , I would be interested to know if any benefits were ever claimed by your ex ?

I can assure you Necron in many cases people like this displayed in the link are quite common , My BIL who has worked and paid into the system all his working life until he retired 3 years ago receives far far less than the unmarried couple with 2 young kids who have never worked since they came living there 2 years ago ! My dear wife of 42 years sadly passed away March 16 2003 .

I think Germany, or at least Bavaria, already has this scheme. I think they manage it by adding a nominal 1 Euro/day top-up to the benefits.

Would be nice to see it in place in the UK as well.

Almost forgot. Instead of having their welfare, food stamp, and other benefits INCREASED for each bastard child these welfare whores drop, I think their benefits should be cut, significantly, each time they breed. Maybe by 50% for the first breeding, than game over after they drop the second. Would certainly cut down the numbers in the next generation of welfare cheats.

BUT this is a real bugbear of mine , as my eldest son has been recently told by his now ex he is no longer loved so she kicked him out the house .

They have 3 kids together and now she lives in a 4 bedroomed detached house claiming over £2000 a month in benefits , it pisses me off as well the fact that HE dosent seem to have to pay for it either !

The main issues in Oz I remember were the quality of labor (shit), the effective creation of government companies undercutting commercial services and the high overall cost of managing the scheme. In the end a large portion of the work was essentially useless makework where they turn up, stand around doing not much and then go home.

Comparing a single retiree to a couple with two kids is not really valid as a large component of their benefit is child support.

Yeah Ian 4th March 1961 until I lost her 16 March 2003 , we had intended to retire here as she just loved Thailand but fate dealt her a bad hand, never mind the 42 wonderful years and the memories are priceless and I count myself very lucky indeed , and thanks for the apology but its no big deal cos how was you to know, getting back to your son ,it would appear that the "law" is very much on the womens side in many cases like this ,as I know of 2 back there which are very similar . what a bummer eh!.

It may be for a 40 hour week, but if they at least had 20 hours and it would leave time for them to look for a real job.

Although if you added all the different benefits up , housing benefits and everything else , you could take that figure and then work out how many hours they can work .
For example : If they receive $500 per week benefits , minimum wage is $10, which means that are legally allowed to work 50 hours per week

Every time this poster has suggested that perhaps if one cannot find work where they presently reside - move. But that's always met with some excuses Granny is too old to move etc.

OK, have the Breadwinner move and secure a well-paying job and then send for Granny and the rest.

They have capped benefits at 26,000 pounds a year but as that is tax free then it takes it to around 36,000 a year before tax. far too high as there are many people working hard all week who pay tax to make sure someone who refuses to work gets more money than they do for busting their balls all week.
How can anyone possibly defend this ?
As said the maximum benefit you should receive is just below the minimum wage so taking a job always makes you better off than not working.

Too bad I couldn't figure out how to get that and live in Thailand. I would be living comfortably! Sadly I have worked continuously since I was 15 only ending up still relatively poor and burnt out at 39. I said "fuck that" and left. Let the other schmucks work their asses off to pay for the slackers I am done.

Yeah BB69 One guy in my area in his early 40s said the same as you , he had a nice house back there and sold it for a pretty penny and says he's enough to live on till he's about 110! , my Sons 47 and he's selling up in 3 years time and coming here cos he's had a belly full too.

In my day that was called the "Draft." Met a young Thai kid, 19 years old who was on his so called "Gap Year," as he just completed his studies at the British International School. I asked him what he was going to do? Nothing, just travel a bit on Mom and Dad.

I had a laugh inside. My "Gap Year," was spent in Vietnam chasing Charlie. Quite a difference in perspectives.

I only wish I had some valuable assets that I could have turned a quick profit on but I wasn't that lucky. Just a couple of used cars and some collectibles I sold on EBAY.:) In a way it was good because I didn't have anything to keep me from just leaving either.

I was actually thinking more along the line of civilian work vice military.

I don't watch NBA or NFL so don't care about the next generation of spoiled prima donnas.

One reason the major 3rd World countries like China, India and Brazil will become economic superpowers is that they do not fund Welfare States as we 'civilised societies do, so they do not need to throw a significant portion of their GDP into that unsustainable black hole.

Quite aside from the adverse implications for a society happily breeding a race of parasites latched onto the Nanny's nipples.

Fair enough to help support those who are genuinely disabled or otherwise unable to work or find work, but a fair and reasonable message for the career idlers should be to work or starve. Unfortunately there's little sense left in a world coaxed along by the bleeding hearts, where everyone is a victim except the real victims, those who in return for an honest day's work are bled dry to feed the loafers. Oh yes, and forced sterilisation for the scum that exist simply to produce babies for the rest of us to feed, clothe, house and educate just enough to follow in their parent's footsteps.

Cheers for the compliment QC ,just because we are politically different does not mean we are different in our outlook on certain aspects of life, actually it was 47 years together as we starting courting when we was 14!, I told every one in the School I was going to marry Moreen (spelled correctly) I often said hey if you found a diamond would you throw it away :) In 2007 I had to go back to the UK to sort some business out, and of course I went to her grave, it was a bit too much for me ,and as I stood there tears streaming down my face talking to her headstone an old gentleman stopped to look at me ,I gathered myself and said I suppose you think I'm crazy eh, he just smiled and said no not at all, in fact I have come to have a good talk to my wife who is in a grave not 30 yards away from your wife's :)

Judging by the 2 pics of one of the sons they look like a fine addition to the neighborhood. :smileylaughing: Fucking disgrace.

Where I grew up it was Cambodian refugees during the Khmer Rouge. Family of 10 or so would get a free house, car, jobs, govt aid, etc then all the young soulless killers (aka teenage boys) would form a gang and start killing locals and stealing shit. We only had local neighborhood gangs that would just fight and screw around but the Cambodian's moved it to the next level. They wouldn't fight they would just shoot or stab you to death. Everyone quickly learned not to fuck with the Cambo's.

This looks like a similar story.
