i used to love this game also - tho i called it 'knick and knock' - until one time when i rang this bell for a house 6 doors down from mine and ran straight home - i didnt realise the bloke was standing at his door, he called out "right now i know where ya live, dont do it again!" - shit!

another game i liked was mixing a chore with a game, had to clean up the dog shit around the garden, the old fella behind the back fence was a right prissy bloke - so add in a nine iron and yep u got it - dog shit golf!

another game - another time we found this new game - fireworks, brick letter box, passing cars ...... mental - bloody thing woudl shoot accross the road like a bloody cannon - prolly lucky we never hit anything!

my most favourite game of all time was "gutter boy", the idea was to lie in the gutter (that's a curb for ameikans) and pretend to be dead, wait till a passing car stopped to ask if you're alright and then jump up and yell and scream like a banshee...... then o' course - we upped the ante, included mangled bikes next to us, tomato sauce all over the road!

we thought it was a right laff, untill me brother and his mate were playing it and a bladdy ambulance was going passed - the ambo's grabbed the kid - frog marched him to his own house and told the old fella what was going on......

so what sorta games do u play as a kid?

and do thai kids play the same games?

and has playstation and cable TV killed all of this 'good fun'?

I think playstation and the internet and that has killed a lot of fun for the kids of nowadays, werent nothing better than going out and setting fire to something, or breaking into empty houses to see what was worth nicking, nowadays kids just dont enjoy that sort of freedom and fun....

Used to make firecracker guns when I was a wee lad.Shot an almost perfect hole in a builders shed window across the road where we lived.(there were only a couple of cracks around the hole..:D)Used a steel marble as ammo.firecracker was called a mighty canon.Only problem is that the old man saw what I did. He broke the gun and told me not to be a fcuk wit...:)

when I was a kid we used to pass the time by throwing petrol bombs at the soldiers and they would shoot rubber bullets at us, they leave a bruise the size of a basketball

thats right - i used to make soda bombs and stick them in the mouth of a carp ! that was well funny.

until a coupla years ago i visited family in law in holland and they had a video tape me missus cousins had taken of us doing all that shit...

they thought i was a well proper bastard of an aussie bloke!

so i learned me lesson,

I was what the Americans call a tom-boy, probably because there were no girls who lived nearby so I had to keep up with the boys.

We played king-of-the-hill with a bit of a twist. One was allowed BB guns, but had to wear jeans and could only shoot below the knees. Still hurt like hell, though.

We must have been MUCH less supervised in those days. My parents rarely had a clue what we were up to once we left the house. They just knew we were nearby and would be home for supper.

When you think back to all the dangerous stuff and illegal stuff you did as a child, it makes me realise that my son has had a really boring childhood, no firework wars, no breaking into building sites or anything like that, no shop lifting just for fun, the parents of the last generation were so much better than this generation :)
