Predict the next PAD move

Once they are evicted from the airports, I think these desperate crazy people will take over one of these, by simply sending in 100 guards with a months worth of supplies to block the tracks and stop hundreds of thousands of people from getting to work.

That's a good point Smeg. Unless they lock 'em all up they'll soon find an equally effective strategy.

Nah, not a chance. Theres a bloke on each platform with a radio, whistle and baton. You've obviously never tried drinking a bottle of water or eating a sandwich whilst waiting for the next train, they can be very persuasive.

Agreed, plus they have a hat only worn by the characters of the Thunderbirds TV series and some even have a torch!

But seriously it is a chilling thought and any patience and support they had from the general public would quickly dwindle.

as I write, there is a mob in Chiang Mai stopping cars, bikes etc on the highway and asking whom they support. Do you think anyone has got the answer wrong yet?

The subway would be an easy target as well. (not the sandwich chain)

I predict they will occupy several large hospitals. But not by choice

Havent noticed anything unusual where I am (mid-country).
There were a few small rallies a few weeks ago but I would estimate no more than 50 people.

By the time they get finished at the airport, the only place left for them will be the last rites at the temple..with a bit of luck!

Macca's and KFC will be next.

I suppose a few of the hardliners will be looking forward to getting home having an Ub Nam, shaging the missus, kicking the dog and finding out whether they still have a job or not.

I have heard that a few of the major banks have been funding this PAD mini revolution and it must be costing them a fortune especially if they are covering salaries.

With every newspaper in the country roundly condemning the PAD’s latest actions, as well as business analysts unanimously confirming that the airport seizure will cause massive economic damage to a country already in danger of recession, the PAD’s popular support has all but evaporated. Rumors of funding sources abandoning the movement as it has become more radical, and whispers about dissensions in the ranks leading to dwindling numbers of ever-more hard-core supporters have shadowed the headlines of the last few days.

“By seizing the airport the PAD has chosen to martyrdom over revolution,” commented an anonymous source in the army. Although the military has so far elected to stay out of the fray, calls by the PPP-led government to extract the PAD from the airport by force are believed to be backed up by a popular mandate of business owners and the Bangkok middle class that formerly supported the PAD.

The mood at the PAD protests remained defiant as of this morning, with the yellow-clad throngs singing songs, cheering speeches, and in many cases attempting to explain their cause in English to the some 3000 tourists who remain stranded at the airport due to cancelled flights. The PAD also appears to be well-stocked for food and beverages, which makes the order for 10,000 gallons of Kool-Aid rather strange.

“It may be some kind of prop,” speculated a reporter from Thai PBS. “Kool-Aid is blood colored, so who knows, maybe they plan to splash it on themselves symbolically. After that whole menstrual blood incident, anything is possible.”

Wearing white robes instead of the customary yellow shirts, the main five PAD leaders declined to be interviewed for this report, citing the need to prepare for impending “crucial” events. But PAD members were generally looking forward to whatever their leaders had in mind for their next move. “I would do anything to save my country and King from that devil Thaksin,” said one unnamed protestor. “Anything.”

seemingly the pad were all payed to go there, food etc... so why doesn't the opposition go one better and pay them more money to go home, problem solved

Really? God, I'm thick. I thought the numbskulls had chosen the airport to try & stop the PM flying in and then when he flew elsewhere, just thought it was a good venue for a party & stayed.

Sounds a bit childish to me... If I was Thai I would say that I'd rather not get involved as I am non confrontational and just want to get to my aunties dairy farm in Patchabun.

I think you got it right.

If they block the BTS we have at least someone to blame for giving them that idea.

^ Nah, a single bomb could have done that by closing the airport. Its pretty obvious that thailand has more than one airport where his plane could land. That excuse was simply a smoke screen over the bigger picture.

Realising they've been duped, or when they no longer are paid their 200bht a day, they implode- and publicly lynch their Leaders. :)
