A new generation of speed cameras that can track drivers for up to 30 miles and cannot be dodged are being tested by police.
The devices stop motorists evading a ticket by braking suddenly before a camera and then speeding up immediately afterwards.
The new cameras could cover whole areas of cities or suburban housing estates, guarding any number of entry and exit points.

By ‘talking’ to each other down phone or internet lines, they calculate a car’s average speed – even if it makes a series of left and right turns down a variety of roads.
The cameras are already in use, but mainly on the motorways.

They are now likely to appear on rural and urban roads, spelling the end for the 6,000 yellow ‘Gatso-style’ box cameras currently in use.
Transport minister Jim Fitzpatrick yesterday told a road safety conference that the latest cameras would be a key weapon in the fight to reduce road casualties.

I read an article recently indicating the UK would be banning people from driving upon their second speeding conviction.

The Government will be needing the revenue from additional hi-tech speed cameras to pay for the Billions they are giving the criminals in the banking sector so they can continue to cheat and swindle the general public.

These cameras serve another purpose and it's only too transparent with the introduction of ID cards and other technology designed to subjugate us.

My Grandparents and their parents fought in World Wars against tyranny to protect our freedoms and human rights. I'd rather die than see their honour and memory betrayed by these traitors in power.

i think its funny to believe that there is freedom anywhere, if you are registered in anyway on any form then you are substitue to some demand and a way of living, in this instance then not many people are truly free....its a word game that people at large, generally believe!

its funny that people swallow the amount of garbage the government gives them, i agree in part with tud there probably will be an uprising what for and when is what will make it all the more exciting to watch!

Yes. the time is coming and in the US too. The governments already know this and have spoken about it which is why most of the police around Europe are riot training more than usual.

im sure there wont be any property damage though, its too expensive to wreck, they'll have to destroy only commercial buildings like mcdonalds and kfc and starbucks and costa coffee and the list goes on............

i got flashed by a camera not for speeding but a red light offense, but it was just a tired mistake and a terrible junction.......thats when i came to thailand i heard they dont have any camera's so i was smitten, but then public transports better then uk so i just use underground and bts, easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The big difference now is this is global, not just local like the pol tax in the UK. When people realise they can't take their money out of the banks, they will take to the streets eventually. And as for those folks eating chips and gravy, they'll join because they think it's cool.
