Pattaya Reporter Beaten Up By Five Civil Volunteer Officers
Five volunteer officers of Thappraya center beat up a news reporter in front of a thousand local and foreign spectators who attended the Loy Krathong festival. The police assumes this is due to some negative news about the officers that the reporter filed earlier.
Pattaya, November 10, 2011[PDN];Mr. Anucha Noyjamnong, a local Pattaya City news reporter notified Pol. Lt. Col. Songkram Puneam, Pattaya police station with injuries after he was beaten up by five Thappraya Center civil volunteer officers at the Loy Krathong ceremony minutes before Mr. Ithiphol Khunpleum, the Lord Mayor of Pattaya City opened the ceremony.

Mr. Anucha, the reporter said he entered the stage to take pictures of the Loy Krathong ceremony and one of the civil volunteer officers of Thappraya stopped him.
Mr. Anucha told him that he was a reporter. The officer didn’t believe him and pulled him off the stage and four more officers joined starting to beat him up, Mr. Anucha’s video camera was damaged.
Mr. Anucha remembers the face of one of the officers, Mr. Meena Namdokmai working at Thappraya center.
The violent incident was witnessed by tourists and other reporters who tried to break it up, saying “he is a real reporter” but the group of officers didn’t stop.
Finally they left taking Mr. Anucha’s walkie/talkie with them.
After that Mr. Ronnakit Akesing, Deputy Lord Mayor of Pattaya City and his team asked for the cause of the incident and told Mr. Anucha to report to the police.
For the cause of this incident, the police assumes is a news report that Mr. Anucha filed regarding one of the officers who inappropriately touched a woman.
This made the civil volunteer officers angry and they beat up Mr. Anucha.
The police made a report and sent Mr. Anucha for a check-up at Banglamung hospital and called the Thappraya center volunteer officers for interrogation regarding the beating.
