Planning to be in Bangkok Early Next Week- Should I Amend My Plans?

I can't afford to get stuck in BKK as I have business elsewhere late next week, but I'm planning to head there Monday or Tuesday for a couple of days if it's still above water (and I hope it is...)

I can confine my travels to lower Sukhumvit if necessary (I will need to get to Lumpini one day, and of course I need a clear path to-and-from the airport), but I'm concerned over the recent reports of a large amount of water on the way.

Baically, if any of you residents had to guess, what would be 'judgment day' (by which I mean the day that if it hasn't flooded by then, it most likely won't).

Care to hazard a guess?:)

Too early to give a forecast for next week. Just check out the situation day by day, as it gets closer to the time

read today the major airlines are making plans to redirect. Flooding will happen in the next 3 days if it is going to happen.

Someone told me On Nut is gonna be under water next

If On Nut were to be inundated then the game is truly up. Bangkok will have had its major arterial route to the east severed. However, I think the fears may be exaggerated and confused by the length of Soi 77 which begins within On Nut but extends all the way to the airport environs. It is this area that is prone to flooding and in the circumstances most certainly will with a corresponding inundation affecting many of the sub sois along some of its length but possibly not as far as the junction with Sukhumvit Road.

I need to make a decison soon and Plan A was a relocation to Pattaya within the next day or so.

Yeah, kinda what I figured- I guess I'll make a final call on Saturday as to whether I can go ahead with a BKK visit.

I seem to have an uncanny ability to always find myself in these situations; I am flying into Bangkok on the 24th!
