Ive just got back from my second trip to Bali in 3 months. This thread will be a group of random shots but mainly concentrating on the beach life and the people that enjoy it. I've taken 500 images so this thread will take a few days to finish as I sort through them. Enjoy.

Here we are at Uluwatu, one of the worlds great surf break. Today was extreme low tide and it was still 6 foot plus. This is a very serious wave that breaks over razor sharp coral and not for the inexperienced.

Punters making there way down to the break and as usual the local woman carrying the produce on there heads to service the restaurants and businesses. I was first here in 79 when one had to walk for klm's down a goat track but now theres a car park directly at the top but its still a serious trek down to the water line.

The women do the heavy lifting and carry crates of beer on there heads down hundreds of very steep steps. Incredible really.

Wonderful here at Uluwatu. looks inviting Terry. so are you a surfer Terry? holiday trip or business? I'vr always thought that Bali would be a nice place for a relaxing holiday but just seems out of the question these days. Too many other obligations. Looking forward to your pictures though. Great post, Terry. How's Kuta now? When I was there years ago, the vendors were so aggressive and persistent that they eventually just drove you off the beach. We ended up going to the other side of the island for a few days, which was great other than a rocky coastline. All in all, a really good time. I think I'll have to take the kids soon. Love the art there, and, as you said, nice folks.

Don't surf these days, bunky knee but get the body board cranked up at Kuta and just have fun, All my travels are for pleasure only, I make my money back in Australia.
Bali is only 3.5 hours away from Perth, I can just jump a plane in the morning and be on the beach by lunch time.
Its just a giggle for me and I treat it as such, the Balinese are a wonderful crowd and the place is void of all the associated problems one encounters in Thailand.
Ive been untold times over the years, know all the best spots to hang out and how to get the best out of Bali but if your a first timer one could fall into the trap of thinking its a tourist ghetto. Bali is much more than that if ones tuned in.
Actually when I retire next year I will be spending June , July, August and September living there. Cant wait.
I got a bit of a hard on for Bali at the moment and will be leaving again on Monday for a 18 day trip, once again just hanging on the Beach, drinking a few beers at sundown, eating great food, staying in a top gaff for $ 40 per night and associating with the locals once again. Not to mention the eye candy is blinding.
Theres a brilliant live music scene that abounds , sunsets on the beach around 5.00PM is the time the locals get there Guitars out and Jam sessions break out at the beach bars.
Anyway on with the show.
The cave entrance. Theres only one way into the surf and its out of this cave, This photo is on the lowest tide, usually this is a swirling mass of dangerous angry water where only the experienced dare to go.

Check this dude out picking his way out over the coral, I've never seen it like this before. Usually its paddling all the way from the cave out to the break fighting through the surf all the way. Its a dam long way to get out there mind you and one must be in good physical shape just to reach the line up.
