Condiments - No, not fish sauce

Thai condiments consist of fish sauce, fish sauce with chili, chili with vinegar, and of course sugar, I do have sugar up here, but thats used for tea and coffee, not food, so lets talk about some proper condiments for us white and black folk.

Yesterday I was down the Indian supermarket in South Pattaya and got a jar of this stuff.

Green Indian Chilli Pickle, about 140baht for a jar, its the big chillies sliced and in an oil based liquid, they have a real nice soft slow burn, remember those boring Lays crisps, these pickles sort them out into something delicious, I admit salsa is ok, but this stuff is 10 times better.

PS, its made by Tops of India and I doubt has any relationship to Tops in Thailand, so what else is there?

I just purchased some American hot dog relish, should spice up the old Ham/Cheese/Tomato/onion sandwiches for tomorrow's lunch just nicely, am a bit over mayonnaise.

I don't really like or dislike mayonaise, but I have never bought it, it is just bland, got to admit the hotdog relish sounds good, although I have to admit i think of chili dogs and the relish might not be as good as them :)

Latest fad of mine which I accidentally stumbled upon whilst I was skint - vinegar and ground nutmeg. It works..

I have jars of locally made sweet pickle (like Branstons, but good), piccalilli, mango chutney, pickled onions and pickled cabbage & apple.

Very yummy.

I love it too, and prefer the powdered version. Very similar to a wasabe lobotomy. :)
