Thai TV show needs foreign interviewees

Hello everyone! This is my first post here (sorry if I missed the section for newbies to post, I'll get that later if need be). I am producing a show about tourism for UBC and I would like to interview foreigners who live in or have a second home in Thailand.

I am especially looking to interview foreigners in Thai, for those of you who speak Thai, but some interviews will also be conducted in English. The interview will cover things like what it's like for you living here, why you came to Thailand, what you've been doing, how you spend free time, your favorite Thai food, etc. It will also be a chance for your business, if you have one, to get some free promotion, and you'll get to see yourself on TV too!

If anyone has any interest please PM or e-mail me with this information:
name, age, gender, nationality
province you live in
your occupation
level of fluency in Thai language
your e-mail address/contact info
and any additional info you'd like to share (not required)

Perhaps it would have been nice to include some info about yourself as well...

might make people a little more trusting before they divulge all that personal info that you require...

And because there are no spammers that harvest publicly posted e-mail addresses, mine is... And it's a UBC show... so I'm paying a million bucks with a side of fries to anyone who wants to promote their own business for free on my show. Actually this is a forum where you will be asked questions if folks feel the need. You're welcome to post here and I wish you success. But with your initial post and the evasive response to some germane questions?

You've got some long-time residents here; newbies are folks with less than 5 years. If you're serious this place would be great resource. You might want to give more of yourself before expecting people to raise their own hands and volunteer any personal information; publicly or in private.

I think the interviews are a great idea, "Deutsche Welle" did something similar, 15 minutes slots of German expats living in Asian countries.
I don't mean to sound negative, but I'm also hesitant, I mean, anyone could just post a request as a hoax.

I appreciate the support Stroller, I'm obviously hoping that it is a great idea too, and I understand your hesitance. I might just be here trying to get farangs to buy jewelry and video cameras, I know, I know. But I think anyone who contacts me, within a couple e-mail exchanges or phone calls, will clearly see that I am really doing a new Thai satellite TV show, out of my own somewhat shallow pocket until it's on air and I can get a little bit of commercial sponsorship, and would genuinely appreciate anyone who could offer a little help in exchange for some free promotion or just to have fun.

Unfortunately I can't offer an abundance of details without first talking to someone because the way the interview is conducted and filmed will depend entirely on whatever conversations we have prior to that. I could talk about the interview in general terms, but that could take forever and could leave me answering countless questions when I'd rather be engaged in a 2-way conversation.


In fact, even if people would just reply with such and such a bar or website or bar's website is a good place to find expats in such and such province, that might just be really helpful to me. Know a guesthouse where the owner is well connected to the expat community? Think he/she might want some free advertisement on a travel show?

Umm, guilty as charged? Well to be fair, only half guilty on the first of those two counts. I actually did include my name in my response. But I'll give you that half a point for effort because I know what you meant to say even though it didn't come out that way. Are all the farangs living here really so angry that harassment should be more forthcoming than offers of reciprocal help? Since no-one has responded, this time I'll just thank the silent ambivilant majority for not

wouldn't that be a 2 way conversation, ie they are asking questions and you are answering them, maybe I am wrong and thats why I haven't attained the great heights of being an English Language Teacher.

Also you being a tv person and all that you must have a website, now if you got a website you could set up an email like, dirtyfokingsexpats@ubc.com and then trash it once you have the people to tell you how downright perverted they are and how they come to thailand for cheap perverse sex, I should add that memock does not come to Thailand for dirty perverse sex, he is a christian, so he might be a good one to interview, all the rest of the posters are probably just sexpats unfortuneately so all you will get out of them is there favourite places for cheap dirty perverse sex, that aint the stuff for a nice family programe about visiting thailand :)

Looks like ThaiTours is making friends an influencing people. Yep, think I wanna help him out and offer up my experiences living here, maybe even do some of his work for him (help him) and find him some interesting people to interview (expose?).

I've seen alot of folks come on this board and get some real help, then soe folks just don't have people skills.

Thai tours - ignore the sarcasm that has been thrown your way - however I don't blame them at all really.

I get contacted about 4 times a year from various production companies from around the world wanting to do documentarys. (not about me of course but about the area I live and I am a bit of a first contact for this area), they genearlly always send an email and tell me who they are, their company, website, email address, phone number etc etc. That way I can feel confident they are the real thing and don't mind spending some time with them giving them the infomation that they need.

Good luck with the project. I would have loved to be involved as I am a media whore but for the first time in 5 years have come to NZ for holidays instead.

Also, the monkey who blanks out the adverts (only to be replaced for an advert from Concordian School) during the footy is always falling asleep on the job. Maybe they can put something in his bananas to perk him up a bit?

"ambivilant" - that's a new English word for me. I keep humbly learning, but my English/German dictionary doesn't list it.
