Oi!! I was gonna start this thread!!!:)
It should be in the rules that you've actually got try each of the beans before casting your vote.
Campbells FTW!!!!!:)
Not enough options... I had to vote "None, I'm a yank", beans are so bloody horrible that they forced me into pretending to be American. :(
Damn canned bean connoisseur thread now.:boggled:
So, where's the Branston option then?
I've never even seen them Campbells ones, let alone try them.Quote:

HP? Hewlett-Packard?...wtf...have they a computer bean now?
Just give me the cheapest brand...I buy 'em by the flat (12-pack?) back home...generic no-name labelling...
But for Sunday dinner it's Heinz...hahaha...
:)
I'd go for Heinz with a breakfast but Campbells with a jacket potato - so I can'y vote.
If the Thai ones that you can find in 7/11 or Tesco were on the list they'd get my vote. Unrivalled flatulence power.
This just speaks volumes about the quality of consumer that Heinz beans attract.:)Quote:

I love the Campbells Pork and Beans when available.
All the shops round here sell this horrible sickly-sweet shyte though.

Hienz
but some others are as good .
Anyone who been thinking about cooking a can of baked beans
but felt a little bit too intimidated to try, heres how-
first - buy a can with a ring-pull top as using a can opener is stressful and dangerous; and you know you're not allowed near sharp objects anyway ...
microwaves are a no no- the beans will taste bland
IMPORTANT-drain off ALL the excess juice
Place the beans in a pan and really overcook the bastards on a high heat
till the sugar in them changes its chemical composition to burnt,
then when exactly 50 % of the beans are stuck to the base of the can, scrape the lot off onto your plate ,add a little pepper and a splash of tomato sauce and serve
LOVELY!
Worse beans I've seen were in North America-some brands even include-a complimentary blob of lard in the bottom of the can, no thanks.
Aussie Always Fresh lima beans in rich sauce are the best.
All canned beans are shiiit. Try cooking your own and they taste great.
I used to eat Cambells pork and beans all the time as a side dish with a big pork chop or two at dinner, supper, tea. But I dont think one kid in a million has ever thought of eating them with eggs at breakfast. Americans I am speaking of.
Personally I find the Cambells beans smaller but over all the taste is more than just a tomato sauce taste. Hell in Malaysia I have been reduce to Ayam. A shit load of black pepper helps a bit.
Ayam Light are my favourite.Quote:
