Pattaya Immigration issue order to revoke visa of British National

A British National is expected to be deported from Thailand after Pattaya Immigration issued a notice of visa revocation against him.

A press conference was held at the Immigration Office in Jomtien on Tuesday Afternoon to announce the detention of Mr. Roderick William Robinson aged 73 from England who was caught in a joint operation with The Special Organized Crime Agency from UK at the V&M Terrace in Soi Beokeow.

The Police detailed 4 separate cases involving Mr. Robinson dating back to 1999 with a case as recent as March 2010 in Australia.

In each case the suspect is accused of crimes against minors.

For this reason, the Immigration Department made the decision to issue an order to revoke his visa and ordered an immediate deportation to UK, even though Mr. Robinson is currently not wanted in connection to any of the cases.

This is a relatively new law whereby Immigration have special powers to revoke a visa if they consider the subject to be a danger to Thai Society or is likely to commit a crime in Thailand.

Mr. Robinson will be transported to the Immigration Detention Center in Bangkok where he will await the deportation process to be completed.

No charges, no problem.

Whilst not commenting on this case, strange they don't feel they have the evidence to charge him... If he so obvious dangerous.

Igoring this case, given this is Thailand and like the USA, all laws get taken to exstrems. I can seeing vengeful, connected types and immigration are going to have lots of fun with a law this wide to carry out extortion and vengeance. Seems almost designed with bribery in mind

Immigration cannot revoke a visa, they can only revoke an extension

Given his anger management problems and his gay miss piggy tat, I wonder if he's having a good time in jail?

^In the wind - not jail. I think. Last I read, he had been let loose. But, now that I think about it, I kind of recall something about him being picked up again. Is he in jail?

I don't know his status, but given his history and the nature of the charges against him, I would be very surprised if he has been granted bail.

Held on remand until his next court appearance at the beginning of March I thought.

Extradited man held over NSW sex charges

An elderly man charged with sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl more than 10 years ago will remain in jail following his extradition to Sydney from Portugal.

Roderick William Robinson, 71, did not apply for bail, which was formally refused by a magistrate, when he appeared in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.

He has been charged with two counts of indecent assault with a person under the age of 10, a court spokeswoman told AAP.

The alleged incidents happened in Sydney between October 14, 1998 and August 21, 1999.

Robinson was arrested in Portugal on March 30 and landed at Sydney Airport at 5am (AEST) on Sunday, where he was met by detectives.

He will remain in custody until his next appearance at Liverpool Local Court on June 9.

Probably already adjudicated, although it's sad he's even on the streets with a record like this. I think this law just gives the Thai government the right to deport those who have a history of being pedos. They'll have an easy time if they want to go after Americans, all sex offender criminal convictions are a public record, particularly pedophiles and there are numerous websites both private and government run on which you can run an Americans name. I cannot understand why Britain and some other countries still keep such convictions confidential.

To be honest if someone is so dangerous that people need to be told about their presence in the community..... then really they should not be let out of jail, which I suppose is why these guys are now getting life and indeterminate sentences; followed by long periods of supervision if they are released from jail.

I suspect the lack of public information is because of the fear of vigilantism that Megan's law has caused in the US. last year I listened to what was happening to a man covered by Megan's law, the violence and discrimination directed at him. his sex crime.... being pissed and urinating against a wall at 2am; plus not taking the plea bargain the prosecutor offered.
