Was John Lennon an AR*EHOLE

I have not made my mind up as yet but the indicators seem to be pointing to Arsehole town.

I have read and looked at all the crap you come across on the internet about the great John Lennon.

When growing up I thought John was the cool Beatle compared to Paul.
But after reading his Ex wife's and Julians account of things Im starting to think
that if you are blessed with a certain genius then you are hampered by a lack of social common sense.

I have never heard that he was one although he had one, well two if you couint Yoko.

Yeh he could be a bit of an arsehole. But he was an interesting arsehole, and a damn good musical talent.

That seems to be the general pattern,If you have something to give to the musical world you lack the publicity side of things ,Like it wasnt intended to be able boast about these things.

Anyone with that much money who ends up with super slag Yoko has to be an asshole of the first order. And I also thought his music sucked.:spin:

Lennon took 6 bullets full in the chest. Yoko was standing right next to him, and not one round hit her..? :confused:

Chapman should have got another 3 life sentences just for that alone.

He was a genuine musical genius, an everyday lad from Liverpool that had godlike adulation thrust upon him when he was still but a kid.

Of course this type of public scrutiny will change a blokes life and yes the kids of that time time did think more of the Beatles then they did of Jesus Christ or any other religion.

An arsehole?........I didn't know him personally so cannot judge but I know his music and his musical genius I will enjoy for the rest of my life.

From what I've read and the doco's I've seen on John Lennon it does appear that there was a wankerish side to him. Wasn't much of a husband to Cynthia and even less of a father to Julian. I think most of it was caused by Lennons mother abondoning him when he was a kid and his father dumping him at his aunts.
Later on in life he did try to make up for his early mistakes by being a good father to Sean, think he took a few years off music to raise him. Perhaps maturing helped him see the errors of his ways
I can't help but wonder how any of us would have turned out if we had the kind of adulation that Lennon got from an early age. Would have been enough to turn most of us into unbearable twats.

I dunno. He died in the prime of his life and career. If he was still around today, he might be busy pissing all over his legend and musical legacy with crap records and money-grubbing concerts. Or appearing on reality tv shows / Toyota adverts.

He had earlier in the day stopped and given Mark Chapman his autograph and had a friendly chat.

That person took Lennon and his words too seriously, just like that other maniac Charles Manson and the bastard killed off one of the true legends of music just when he was starting to contribute again.

Historically, eccentricity and unorthodoxy are grounds for damnation.....especially artists.

He had to be one of the first real PC nutters to hit the planet. Get over it, he's dead and can't complain about an EX writing about him.
