Today I learnt how to get into a National Park for free.

Take a monk with you and you can get in for free as you are going there to do official monky business.

The missus went to the temple today near our house and they were to let some turtles go. The monk suggested we take them up the mountain and let them go in the middle of the park as they should survive then and that is best for the good luck.

So we took a drive up there and did not have to pay.

Hope they were not saltwater turtles.

Everything goes in circles in Thailand. There is no forward or backwards just rotation.

Don't you get Thai priced witha driving license.
Can't ever recall paying on Samet.

It's be theorized amongst some anthropological circles, that chickens {as we know them today} were first domesticized in what is now known in Thailand, some 8,000 years ago - give or take a few. Though, convention has viewed such diffusionist theories to favour ancient China and India....which, more than likely, had the tasty fowl introduced. Pre-historic items tend to be fuzzy...always.

Thailand invented a new meal between brunch and lunch.

I grew up thinking Thailand was a rich nation. I got the idea from National Geographic when they first went colour. All that gold on every page. I thought it was real. Then in grade school our teacher brought in a clipping of Thailand's new born-in-America king. He looked smart alright.

I heard the men were manly. That's a funny one. Thai boxers are tuff, that's about it.

Thailand is made of discarded plastic bags.

Chillies aren't indigenous to Thailand. I don't think durian is either.

^ virtually none of the Somtam ingredients are: chillis, tomatoes, errm, errm, what else is in Somtam again?

(I learnt to happily make such statements in Thailand :))

Thailand has some of the most beautiful women on the face of the planet. The problem is that men of them are men. :(

yeah make-up works amazingly well on a lot of men . dressin-up too. and they have that certain smile. that some nice females have. party-time for the local sperm, look.

In Kanchanburi there is a temple which is part of the Khmer empire. It is the furthest west of the Khmer empire as far as I have heard.

Chantaburi went through a gem stone boom during the early 1980s. At the same time the Khmer Rouge was still strong. There was a Khmer Rouge stronghold 1 hour or so from Chantaburi Thailand. It's name is Pailin. Hey Pailin means Blue Sapphire in Thai. What a coincidence!

In Thailand recently deceaced people can tell their close friends the winning lottery numbers

The white hashed paint lines we westerners think are pedestrian crossings at intersections in BKK are actually motorbike drag racing starting gates.

The action starts at least 3 seconds before the light goes green.

It was commonplace throughout Europe from the 15th to the 17th centuries, especially in Italy.
