A few days ago I gave my son a load of computer bits and pieces to see if he could build his own one, some of the stuff was working and some hadn't been checked, so yesterday whilst he was at college I thought I would see how he was doing with his pc building and nip down to tuk dot com to buy any bits he might need.

So I've gone up to his room, pressed the start button on his computer, and it booted up, yep everything working good, so I thought to myself I should get him connected to the internet so he doesn't have to bother me, then I looked up.

I wondered what he was doing with an old alloy sieve with a bit of plastic in it.

So I had a quick look thru his connections, his biggest pipe is from the condo wifi he hacked, he's also done most of the others in the local area, he also has a bigger collection of porn than me :(

What kind of porn?

has he actually cracked someones WEP or just connected to an open AP ?

make sure he understands changing the MAC on his USB NIC and maybe look at running privoxy to strip a fair bit of info out of his http requests

He has the list of passwords and user names hidden under his mouse pad, really hard stuff like user name"admin" password "admin1", plus a few harder ones.
Got to admit I did wonder for a few secs what the sieve was for, it's a bit battered, I think he is hiding his mac as there was a nice long number on his list which was too big for an ip, got to admit I didn't take much notice, just turned the poxy thing off.

Next thing he'll be looking for aliens...

...and be extradited to the US

I was going to do a thread on how to get onto other peoples networks, probably best to let him do it :)

when I was 15 I sure wouldn't of like my ol' man going into my room while I was out, and going through my computer.

Kinda like an invasion of privacy/trust. Might be good for bonding etc. to go through it together and get him to point out all the stuff he's done, then reward with praise.

Just a suggestion like.

He's obviously pretty clued in to do what he did.

aahh, he doesn't know, I doubt rewarding him with praise is a good idea.

Mine sucseded yesterday when his Grandmother called up from the UK and I was too slow to catch the phone before he got there.

I was busy pissing about with something downstairs when the phone went, I knew it was his grandmother as she rang the day earlier but he was already asleep.

Before I could get up the stairs he was on the phone already...

She must have asked "Where is Daddy? and the reply was..."Oh Grandma...that fucking idiot is trying to fix the brakes on my bike..."

Then it was "Where is Mummy"... "Oh Plah Whan is sleeping, followed by snoring noises, and hysterical laughter, then as I got to the door he was tellling her how she sounds like a pig when she snores, and it is so much better when she doesn't drink whisky!

(I wouldn't care but she wasn't asleep, nor had she been drinking whisky)

I got in the room and he starts a "normal conversation - so I let off a really stinking fart...and waft it his way, He asks the old doll if she can smell it! (Down the phone) followed by..."Daddy fucking stinks"

Then he tells her Daddy wants to send you a present..."He's going to fart in a box and close the lid really quickly, tape it up, and post it...then when it gets to England you can open it and smell it!" He is 8!

I cracked up...but you can just imagine what she thinks of me.

I have been hung drawn and quatered already...thank god she cannot understand what KEE JEE is, he called her that for only sending him 20 quid for Christmas...probably listening to me!
