Why doesn't this Thai DJ get the acclaim she deserves?

This is DJ Nakkadia, Thailands only international dance DJ, she's played in many countries all over the world, in Europe and Asia.

But in Thailand you hardly hear f**k all about her and no Thais know her at all, apart from the dance / DJ anoraks.

Why? Is this classic Thai prejudice?

The truth of most DJ's nowadays is that they are technically inept. BPM counters and fx have made the previous skills necessary redundant. It's not what you know, but who you know these days.

A shame.

I've no idea if this ladies any good, but I suspect she's nothing special.

All the technology has certainly taken the shine off the ability to mix and beatmatch vinyl records.

I never try and say it's anything technical anymore. In fact most of the time I'm standing there doing nothing, and the laptop plays it all. I don't pretend to be 'busy' like a majority of DJs do.

I've actually been told off for 'just standing there'....or lurking in the background darkness... In fact it was the main reason I got fired from my residency at CM2 Concept club in Bangkok.

She's known in Thailand I think, I've certainly heard of her and I am never too interested about these often over hyped DJs.
