Stuck in the house? Nothing to do? Want to be "THE MAN"

If it's raining outside, you are settled for a night in around the fan or the air con and looking for something new, bored with trivial pursuits, monopoly and the like?

Really want to impress everyone?

Gather some Thai friends and get on the net, click this link and get them to play a round or two.... Imagine how you could humiliate the local Kamnan or Pu Yai Bahn!!!

Geosense: an online world geography game

geography it seems is not their highpoint, you will WIN WIN everytime, you will look like a Proffessor, whatever your education level!

How you will roll about the floor laughing as they try to pinpoint even the country, let alone the city...

Actually, I mean this a bit tongue in cheek, as it is pretty damning of the education system here that teaches them virtually nothing of the outside world, and to be honest, the education system here teaches them practically nothing FULL STOP!

I think that you are correct, Michael Moore did a pole and 65% of American school kids could not locate Great Britain on an atlas...sad or what?

But I bet 99% of Thais could not find Thailand on a world map...they would be looking for that "Massive" country, bigger than all the others in the world that is beamed into their TV's every day at 6 and 8!

Hey, I'm American and I won a free dinner some years ago at an ESL training school for a quiz asking us to identify the countries bordering on the Mediterranean. I even got Montenegro and Northern Cyprus (which I qualified with an asterisk because it's only recognized by Turkey). Bested some Limeys and Aussies, too. :)

My American lawyer friend thought that Scotland was a city in England. I would've loved to have seen him say that to a Scotsman.

Sad but true; I bought a huge world map in Thai/English in frustration at friends here not knowing where either of my last 'home' countries are - NZ (well that's understandable!) or Australia; none could locate Thailand as a starting point either. I do not blame them, most countries' education system has a local focus, some did not seem to have seen a full world map before and the scale had them baffled.

Maybe a short paragraph as a learning tool?

A Polish person is often refered to as a "Pole", in a recent poll many Polish women said they enjoyed getting naked in front of British tourists and pole dancing.

Not Stupid, the guy in charge here is more like the monkey than the organ grinder! He is too stupid to know anyway. ( and to be honest, huniliating the piece of SHIT in charge of our place is manna from heaven!)

Because I pay no taxes, and don't have to put up with site people that burgle your home steal your car and behave in a repugnant manner.

They may be a bit slow at times, but in general, your home is your home, your property is your property and you don't have the same range of scum that tends to inhabit the places like Newcastle, here you can avoid it, over there you have to try to avoid it!
