Need Advice re : Credit Rating Error !

OK, I don't go on other forums so I decided to post here if that is OK?

I recently got refused a job because of my credit rating. I don't owe any money so I looked at my Experian report online. What has happened is my father's debt's have appeared on my list, this I believe is to do with us both having the same name. Even though the dates of birth are correct I have a shite credit rating because of his missed payments to one (large) bank.

BOTTOM LINE :

What do I do from here ? I have obviuosly lost out because of the bank's error, I should be due compensation of some sort? I lost a job because of this error.

Is anybody out there familiar with legal matters such as this one?

Any advice would really be appreciated (I'll even green ya for it :))

Go see the bank manager. Get all the correct data. Make him immediately contact in writing the explanation to the co. you lost the job at. Get a copy of this letter. Contact the company again to see if they received the doc and see if you can get hired. If all else fails or the bank refuses to cooperate, get a lawyer to sue the bank.

You're in UK, right, meow? There's a credit rating Omsbudsman or supervisory body, I think. Phone Citizens Advice for the details and get in touch with them. I think whoever compiled the credit rating is obligated to correct their error once it is pointed out to them, but don't know if you can get compensation or anything like that. Good luck.

OK, I see you are in Scotland, If you were in the USA it would all be very neat, you would take your assult rifle into the bank and shoot the filthy prick and anyone else that give you any shit.

But in scotland it is going to be a little messier, Drink most of a bottle of single malt, dig out grandpa's old claymore and go into the bank and hack the filthy prick to death and anyone else who gives you any shit.

Now with that taken care I doubt that you will need a job.:)
