A TELLY news report left viewers baffled after flashing up a murderer's mugshot showing a HAMSTER.

The blunder happened on an American news network reporting the story of a girl who had gone missing eight years ago.

It said cops were quizzing convicted murderer Rodney Stanger, 60, on suspicion of kidnapping her.

But when they tried to show a snap of the jailed killer a picture of the rodent appeared instead.

The embarrassed newsreader said: "This is not Rodney Stanger, obviously..."

That Roland Rat was a shifty looking fucker too.
