Arriving at the immigration checkpoint at Kho Kong, coming by ferry from Sihanoukville. You have to change into these little boats to make the last 20km to the Thai border:

Actually this border is quite a nice drive to, a lot of the road overlooks the sea so you get some nice views of unihabited beaches.
They got a secure car park opposite the Thai immigration office, well saying secure, what I mean is that you have to pay for your car to stay there.
Nice big seafood restaurant before the office and here are a couple of pictures from the restaurant, even got nice toilets there.

If you come from Thailand, and miss the connection for further travel, i.e the morning ferry or minibus, there's a small town with a few guesthouses on the Cambodian side to spend a relaxed afternoon and stay overnight.

You're right about the nice beaches on the way...this one - Hat Baan Cheun - we stopped at on the way home...lovely day...not a soul in sight

Its a toll bridge which depending on how well you negotiate, the driver pays or you pay. Gone on pickups straight from the ferry and not paid, gone the next morning on moto and 50/50 paid / not paid.Quote:
