CNN's wank Brit Dick Quest a meth-head, no surprise there

NEW YORK - A CNN reporter was arrested Friday in Central Park with a small amount of methamphetamine in his pocket, but he avoided jail time by agreeing to undergo drug counseling and therapy.

Richard Quest, 46, was arrested around 3:40 a.m. on a count of possession of a controlled substance — a misdemeanor that usually refers to a personal use amount of a drug. He was also charged with loitering; the park officially closes at 1 a.m.

When police saw and detained Quest, he told them, "I've got some meth in my pocket," according to the complaint filed in court. The complaint said he had a plastic sandwich bag containing methamphetamine in a jacket pocket.

Quest, who is British, is a correspondent for CNN International and is known for his reports on business travel. He hosts "CNN Business Traveler" and "Quest."
At his arraignment in Manhattan's Criminal Court, Judge Anthony Ferrara told Quest that if he attends the counseling and therapy designated by prosecutors for the next six months, his case will dismissed.

The judge allowed Quest to leave court without posting bail. He warned that if Quest failed to comply with the counseling schedule, he could be back in court and on his way to jail.

Quest's lawyer, Alan M. Abramson, said his client "did not realize the park had a curfew. He was returning to his hotel with friends."

CNN had no immediate comment on Quest's arrest.

My dad knew him when he (Quest) was a cub reporter for the BBC and he (my dad) had never met anyone so full of himself. :wank:

I used to find quest really annoying but at least he is entertaining too.

The one that gets me is that fokking irritating mid 50s cow with the fokked up accent who presents stuff on BBC World(?)

Sounds like she is half irish half scandinavian half canadian or something. Jeezus her hurdy gurdy whiny drone makes nails on a blackboard sound like springtime birdsong.

That would be Lyse Doucet, a Canadian.

Thought it was obvious that Quest was on uppers. The guy must speak 120 words per minute.
Always hated him as a presenter.

When I googled 'lyse doucet accent' the 4th hit was a thaivisa thread - weird.

Anyway it seems she is from Bathurst, New Brunswick, French Canadian and that her accent is not a hybrid as I had assumed.

Jeez everybody from Bathurst New Brunswick must really talk like that. A whole townful of that horrific accent and none of them will even think it is strange.

I had the unfortunate experience of having to work for him once, complete c__t. He thought he was the director, camera man and producer and walks around the CNN offices like everyone should kowtow to him.

His annoying, grating reporters voice is probably his greatest bankable asset- he's risen quite quickly through the ranks on the back of it.
