Elevenses
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the United Kingdom and some other Commonwealth Realms, elevenses that is similar to is a snackafternoon tea, but eaten in the morning.[1] It is generally less savoury than brunch, and might consist of some cake or biscuits with a cup of tea or coffee. The name refers to the time of day that it is taken: around 11 am. The word "elevenses" is seen as a little old fashioned.[1]
i had an Alpen bar. strawberry yoghurt flavour. They are available for free in the pantry at my office. I usually sneak 2 or 3 of them home every day as my kids like them too.
I had a mug of Tesco tea (more PG Tips than Liptons) and 3 slices of wholemeal bread with strawberry jam.
(There is a tea bag tea leaf in my office who took my Twinnings Earl Grey. For some reason they don't want the Tesco brand)

Five decades ago when I was at primary school we used to call it "little lunch".
Then when I was a big boy and started work we called it "smoko".
Then, after a few more decades, it became known as "morning tea".
Now it has the more politically correct name of "morning break".
WTF they are going to call it next year I couldnt guess. I kinda like "smoko " though".
Known as 'recess' in schools,'brunch' if you are not working and 'morning break' if you are.

Can elevenses be like a 'pm' elevenses or just 'am' elevenses? Would 'pm' elevenses be closer to a midnight snack then? Hey KingWilly what do you do for a ten o'clock? (pm)
Just am. If it's at 11pm it's called a fucking late supper.Quote:
