I did a three and a half hour written exam today, the last pert of my DELTA (teaching diploma). My right hand is killing me, because I don't think I've written anything that long by hand for over 20 years. That's the end of nine months of fucking hard slog. Glad it's all over. Now just got to wait until March to find out from Cambridge if I've passed.

I'd agree if that was the major assessment tool, but I don't think it is. I had to research seven different areas of grammar, lexis, phonology, materials, course design, and discourse over the course of seven months, write essays about them, teach lessons based on them and be observed teaching those lessons. I also had to do an in-depth study of one student and write about 12,000 words including appendices, analysing strengths and weaknesses and making suggestions about what the student could do to improve in weak areas.Quote:

Where did you do your teaching practices?
I ask because a BC teacher I know had to fly in the observer from HK or go to HK. This was around 4 years ago though.
Chiang Mai. Flew in a guy from Brunei for the last observation. For the other observations, a guy from BKK flew up.Quote:
