Scots paedophile arrested in Thailand after eight years on the run

A Scot has been arrested in Pattaya after he fled Scotland eight years ago over an indecent images conviction.


William Dempster, from Lanarkshire, was found guilty of possessing indecent images of children in 2014.


The 46-year-old was convicted in May 2014 and fled the UK before he could be sentenced.

He is then believed to have travelled to Thailand.


The Royal Thai Police, working with the National Crime Agency (NCA) and Police Scotland, arrested Dempster on an international warrant on Monday.


Police Scotland say he will now be subject to extradition proceedings.

Always amuses me how the NCA Bangkok and UK authorities prioritise foreign based paedophilic offenders when the tsunami of kiddy fiddling by the Catholic establishment in the UK through its ministries embedded in society has still not been properly investigated. Foreign expenses, allowances and the lure of exotica is much more interesting, it seems.
