In case you are not aware, if you get a new passport , you need a certificate from your embassy to verify that your new passport is ...errr..yours...or something to that effect.

Don't forget that there is NO charge by immigration to transfer stamps from your old passport to your new one.
...recently transferred visa stamp from old passport to new at CW. I presented all the required docs (I thought) and was then asked for a 6-month printout of my bank account. I complained that this requirement was not stated on the website nor on the form listing necessary docs given out by CW itself. After some rummaging, they produced a form written in pidgin that said to reduce fraud (I think) such bank statement is required. Long story short, I asked at the bank if they could issue the statement without my bankbook and, mirabile dictu, they could if I produced my ATM card. Of course, a snarl of rigmarole had to be subsequently endured, but I eventually went upstairs, handed in the bank form and after a mere 50 minutes, my visa transfer was complete...
N.B. The US embassy sent a letter for CW along with my new passport (done by mail).
My embassy is not aware of this req'nt.
To clarify...this form is filled by your embassy to verify that the passport is original and you are the rightful owner.
There is nothing about it in the main immi. website either but you can find it in 'regional' sites

A visit to my local immi. office brought no results today
..although I talked to the very same officer who informed me about it back in August.
Phone the 'Immigration Hotline 1178'.
Mine was aware of it when I got a new passport last month, they put a paper in the passport telling that the reason for issuing a new passport with number xxxxx was because the old one with number yyyyy had expired. It was not written on an immigration form.Quote:

I renewed my Brit passport earlier this year. I received a new passport plus a piece of paper which I was informed I needed to hand in to immigration when moving my stamps.
I didn't read it and handed it to immigration. No issues with the transfer.
The paper came from the UK not Trendy

As in previous years the embassy cut holes in the machine readable part of the old passports first page but new for this time was that they stamped each empty page of the old passport "makulerad" which is Swedish for annulled.
I guess it is done in order to make it impossible to extract empty pages and use in another Swedish passport..
