This is a trip for the family in a couple years.
Manila to Koh Samui is an 8 hour flight. That sucks. Manila to Pattaya is just 3 hours. More acceptable. Pattaya has good shopping and has the water park. Would be fun I think.
I was just wondering if there was any insider knowledge in doing the Philippines/Thailand tour.
I doubt it takes 5 hours to fly from Bangkok to Samui. Maybe 45 minutes.
Why do you want to visit the PI?

^ I was just trying to do some research on the fly , while I'm driving . Just trying to get a feel for the fiesta distances. I remember seeing flights from Borocay to Thailand when I was there. Judging by those prices , it didn't seem that far away

In November 2008 Swampy was closed for two weeks, by political protests, just before the high season for tourists. When the protesters were removed, flights were available at 50% of normal costs.
