Theoretically 5000 BTUs would do a room of 100 sq ft or 9.3 sq m. Care must be taken with ratings as like car fuel ratings they are not always real world conditions. Also you still need the air throw across the room to prevent warm dead air pockets. It looks like it also requires a vertical sliding window. Certainly rare in most homes these days. Maybe not so in the U.S.

^ Granted ... but there is a 'standard' ceiling height, usually around 2.4 metres, just under 8'

For those interested whom may wish to check whether their Air con was sized correctly, a quick rule of thumb check, is to multiply the floor area in SQUARE FOOKING FEET X 50 which should give approx room heat load requirement in BTUs.

Clean rooms are usually positive pressure rooms to prevent ingress of unfiltered air.
