Cold and windy throughout the country
Temperatures in all parts of the country are dropping 2-4 degrees Celsius from today (Sunday) until Tuesday due to the onset of high pressure from China which has already blanketed upper region of Thailand and the South China Sea, said the Meteorological Department.
The department warned people in upper region to take care of their physical health because of the cold weather while people living along the eastern coast of southern Thailand to brace for high waves and strong winds. Fishermen and sailors of small vessels were told not to venture out into the sea for their own safety.
In Bangkok on Sunday, minimum temperature ranges from 21-23 degrees Celsius while maximum wage are predicted at between 33-34 degrees Celsius. It is cool and windy with northeastern wind speed ranges from 15-30 kph.
In the North, the Weatherman forecast morning fog and cold weather with the mercury dropping 1-3 degrees C to 14-19 C at minimum and maximum temperatures at 27-32 C. It will be cold and very cold on mountain tops with temperature dipping to 5-13 C.
Northeastern region is predicted to experience cold weather and strong winds with minimum temperatures expected to dip to 13-17 C and maximum temperatures up to 27-32 C.
Mountain tops’ temperatures range from 7-13 C.
It will be windy and cold in the eastern region with minimum temperatures predicted to dip to 18-23 C. Maximum temperatures are forecast to range from 33-35 C.
The southern region will be cloudy with 40 percent of the areas of the region to be hit by rains mostly in Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and Songkhla provinces. High waves are predicted in the Gulf from Chumporn downward.
