Missing body of premature baby at Samut Prakarn hospital prompts investigation

Samut Prakarn hospital is now investigating into the mystery surrounding the missing of the body of a premature baby after the family has filed a complaint with the police.

The complaint was lodged with Samut Prakarn police by the mother after she could not retrieve the body of dead premature baby.

According to her brother Suthirat Wangklang, her sister prematurely delivered her six-month old baby on October 5 at the hospital.

But the baby girl died two days afterwards from what nurses said from heart failure.

Her sister then came to retrieve the body for religious ceremony but was told the body was not at hospital.

Hospital director Dr Samphan Komrit said it was still not known how the body went missing from the hospital mortuary.

He said all hospital staff involved would be called for questioning.

The family was concerned that the baby body might be stolen for some supernatural ritual purposes.

Yeah, my mind leapt to luk thep.

a few years ago my wife miscarried at a Samut Prakarn hospital and the helpful folks there bought it out in tissue to show us.

We didn't return there when we conceived again...

I had a look at some such foetus amulets a few years ago, one was about 4 or5 inches long, another was about 2 inches.

Others were clearly carved fakes designed for an obvious demand in such.

Recently, I saw one of those "ghost babies", spirit dolls, being carried around by a Thai lady on the back of a motocy. I thought it was her wee child at first.

Crazy.

Sometimes used in black magic, too...Poor wee thing...

Studied the stuff in religious studies at uni, interesting stuff, especially how it works.

I doubt that he was selling foetal remains for good luck, though.

Have seen the "cleansings" of spells before...Very interesting stuff to witness...The guy performing the ceremonies was a university professor who did it in his spare time...He was a special guy...We had good conversation before things started, so we respected each other...

Had about a dozen people from the village show up, mainly because the guy was "legitimate," in the sense that he didn't charge for his services, instead relying only on donations, if you felt like it...

I thought he would've showed up in his saffron robes, but no, he was dressed in street clothes and quite serious...And I liked that, as well...

It really was a show watching everybody transform to their "other forms"...When they all suggested I go forward, he abruptly curtailed their enthusiasm, saying: "No, BB doesn't need this"...

Very interesting guy, for sure...What struck me is how he left in such a hurry to get to the temple...Headed straight for his vehicle and drove off smartly...

I wondered if he was full of all the "poison" he'd "exorcised" from the locals and needed to expel it...Much the same as the black man in The Green Mile who could "suck the evil" out of people, but it made him sick until he spewed it out his mouth like a bunch of gnats in the air...

Fantastic stuff...

Superstitious mumbo jumbo born out of ignorance, fear and stupidity. But, enough of Hollywood, how much did your charlatan mate rake in every year?
