Japanese tourist claims she was raped by Pattaya speedboat driver
At 6pm, on the evening of September 25, Pattaya police arrested thirty-four-year old Mr Ratana Harit, who is also known as Na.
The arrest came after serious allegations of rape were made against the Koh Larn speedboat driver by a Japanese tourist.
The unnamed woman says that on September 24 she hired Mr Harit and his speedboat for a tour around the Island and that they spent the day together, after hiring motorbikes, driving around Koh Larn and drinking in bars.
She claims she was then raped by Mr Harit in the early evening.
However, whilst Mr Harit has admitted having sex with the lady he claims it was consensual and that she wanted to have sex with him by the side of the road.
He says he thought nothing more of it until the police arrived at his house to arrest him the following day.
He is pleading not guilty to the charge of rape and the police are investigating the evidence
