David Duong's family had to be rescued at sea after fleeing Vietnam in a small boat at the end of the war. After time in a refugee camp, they arrived in the United States with no possessions other than the vision of seeing opportunity where other people saw only trash. Now, the family recycling business in California is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, employs hundreds of people, and is investing back in Vietnam.

About 15 years later, you started reading stories of their sons and daughters getting into prestigious universities, getting Ph.ds, and becoming successful entrepreneurs.
In the Seattle area, many of these immigrants live in the more expensive neighborhoods.
They've been successful for the most part. Good on their work and study ethics.
Remember it well...And remember the people...One pretty little Legal Assistant in particular...The "hope" of the whole family...
Almost all immigrant groups have flourished after becoming citizens in America. That is why it was named the American Dream.
Fifty years ago there were no Lebanese, Korean, Indian, Viet, Cuban or Mexican restaurants in America.
Thankfully times have changed. Some Americans haven't.

What about the Black fellows, can't they invest back in their country of Roots.
They could and some do. Keep in mind the great-great-grandparents of most blacks never received citizenship. They arrived and died as slaves.
Vietnam is starting to show real promise as an economy.
