A BUSINESSWOMAN from the U.K. revealed an embarrassing moment during an entrepreneurs’ conference in Vietnam, where she mistook a 46-year-old married man for a child, and picked him up for a photo op.
Michelle Mone, founder of lingerie company Ultimo, was on the stage during the conference when the man went forward to give her flowers.
Thinking he was a child, Mone scooped him up onto her hip and posed for a picture in front of around 3,000 people.
It was only when the man’s wife called out “That’s my husband!” that she realized her error.
Mone, 44, tweeted the incident with pictures of her picking the man up, adding: “Everyone thought it was hilarious, including him.”
Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, Mone, from Glasgow, said she thought something was odd about the man, as his teeth were stained”bright yellow from nicotine”, reported The Independent.
“The guy was fine with it and the whole room was screaming with laughter,” she added.
The gaffe drew some discussion on Twitter with most people finding it hilarious:
However, she drew some criticism from others who accused her of humiliating the man by posting the picture in order to “gain attention”:
No explanation was available for the man’s small appearance.
