Paying The Lawyer. WTF.????

I have just returned from a flash trip back to Perth to consult a Lawyer over a Family Law issue spanning back 11 years.

I arranged it all from Bangkok, I flew in on Monday consulted the lawyer on the Wednesday and fooked off again on the Thursday.

To cold in Perth at the moment so bolted back to Malaysia to play there for 9 days before flying back to the Mad house.

I spent 1 hour 25 minutes in his company, we worked through this issue until he concluded that I have no chance of launching a successful case so better off going down the Pub and pull on a blinder.

Oh well, 350 K AUD down the shitter, no big deal EH. :rolleyes:

So my Lawyer hands me his bill.

$700 plus 10% GST and 1.5% because I payed with Visa Card. :confused:

Total wedge = 778 Buks for 1 hour 25 minutes of his time.

Not having a bitch here but this is what it costs to seek legal council in Australia.

In other words if one is going to launch a court case make sure you can win the fookin thing.

My little trip back to Perth cost me 60 K baht but well worth it just to put this long running case to bed.

No wonder lawyers drive around in Ferrari's and shit gold nuggets. :)

Might be a more stimulating tale if you'd fill us in as to the hanging family issue, Ter.

In the UK I believe its part of they're protocol when you first meet they have to verbally tell you they're rate of pay .

When I marched in for my divorce case first meet she smugly sat behind her leather desk and said with a plum in her mouth " My rate of pay is £200 per hour "

I replied " Mines £6.50p per hour nice to meet you I am sure "

Good luck to em , wish I had been gifted with more grey matter , but then again , no I've got a happy content life so why do I need all that money ? :)

Another winging Australian with crabs in his pockets. It amazes me how the general Australian will happily throw endless amounts of alcohol and drugs in their bodies on a daily basis but want everything for nothing or little money.
If anyone actually knew what a lawyer etc had to go through to become qualified to practice law they would understand but then again we are talking about an Australian :sexy:

Actually mate you picked a good lawyer...many would let you enter into litigation for years perhaps?

My mate in Canada was told that he would most certainly win in family law case..Cost him $6000.00...He was in court 20 minutes and the judge ruled against him and he had to pay $35k back spouse support!

Once I informed him that I live in Bangkok he proceeded to tell me that he was in Bangkok When the baby " Gammy " story broke.

They all wanted to speak on the Phone when I returned to Australia. :confused:

Firstly that's fucked up simply because I needed to actually sit down face to face and talk business.

Secondly that's fucked up because I was willing to pay the money for a sit down chat and fook the cost.

Somethings need to be sorted face to face and not over a fookin Phone.

Took me a week to source this throttler before I left for Perth.

Well I'm very happy to inform you mate that you are quite close to the money shot but a tad off the mark comparing my good self to those tight arse Australian tossers.

Myself being way out front on forethought have placed an order for an ounce of top quality mind blowing Hydro mull for my sojourn back to Perth in October.

I will only be around for two weeks so I will need to give it a good fookin hammering whilst in Country. Mix it up with Coopers Sparkling Ale and it's Happy days indeed. :)

Will set me back 350 buks but will provide much more mirth and Entertainment at half the cost of listening to that faggot lawyer blabbing on about his mail order Baby.

After an hour he trots of to get some back up. This other Dude walks in and we go thru it all again .

The out come went like this.

We can take your money and present it but you will lose and pay us a lot of money so forget it.

I was impressed with their straight approach and walked out 778 buks poorer but very happy with their professional service.

I was well prepared to spend a nice wedge of money for a court date if there was any chance whatsoever of a positive outcome.

Sometimes we must pay up front for dealing with the professionals and I was happy to do so.

Penang was nice by the way. :)

I was recommended to this lawyer because of his extensive Knowledge of Family law also it was quite a large company in Perth so I was dealing with the right people. Extremely important when considering legal action.

At the end of the consultation the two lawyers told me that other less experienced lawyers may consider a challenge but they will not because they know it would fail.

Quite impressed with that and would gladly consult them again if needed.
