Looking for beautiful Thai women
PHUKET: Girl watchers might want to pay a special visit to Jungceylon on June 24, when starry-eyed beauties from all over the southern region will converge on the second floor to apply for the chance to compete in the Miss Thailand World 2007 beauty pageant.
The pageant, organized by Thai TV Channel 3 content provider BEC Tero-Entertainment, will determine which beauty will go on to represent Thailand at the Miss World 2007 pageant, to be held in Sanya, China on December 1.
The one-day application period at Jungceylon, from 10 am to 6 pm, is the only one in Southern Thailand. Would-be contestants can also register in Bangkok until June 28.
All contestants must meet the following requirements:
- Thai national;
- Real woman (no ladyboys);
- At least 165 cm tall;
- Never married, without child;
- Aged between 17 and 24 on the date of application;
- Good personality, attractive and intelligent;
- Mattayom 6 graduate or higher;
- No criminal record;
- In good health;
- Has never represented Thailand in an international contest;
- Can communicate well in both Thai and English;
- Not listed on the Immigration blacklist of the UK, where the contest organizer is based;
- Resident of Thailand.

PATONG: Twenty-four beauties from Southern Thailand
PATONG: Twenty-four beauties from Southern Thailand on Sunday signed up at Jungceylon to enter the Miss Thailand World 2007 beauty pageant organized by Thai TV Channel 3 and BEC Tero Entertainment.
The applicants, from 17 to 24 years old, came from as far as Trang, Surat Thani and Songkhla hoping to be named to be the most beautiful woman in the world for 2007.
Once selected, 30 competitors from all over Thailand will take part in pageants in Nong Khai province and travel to Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia for photo shoots.
The applications were collected by Thanida “Ginny” Karnchanawat, Miss Thailand 2005 finalist and Miss Chinese International 2006 runner-up.
The final round of the contest will be held at the Bangkok Convention Center on August 4. In addition to the seven million baht in cash and prizes, the winner will also be Thailand’s representative for the Miss World 2007 pageant in Sanya, China, on December 1.
