many i have met who abhor the idea of ever going back to live in their home country again.
this is not mere reverse culture shock.
several have ended up in thailand, china or australia or some other place that gives them solace but all have the general idea of 'the states man, fukked up, no way. got the politics, gun rights, ultra hypersensitivity to homosexuals, god lovers....' 'oz fukk that, too many taxes. bunch of yobbos'
why is that?

a friend of mine got her thai husband knocked back last year...she had to go back alone to have their kid
she had to come back over here for a holiday just for him to see his new son...he was 4 months old before he was able to see him...

I don't think anyone really enjoys living in the UK full time just not a fun place anymore compared to how I remember the 80's and 90's, probably ok if you're just visiting for a month or so in the Summer but the place generally sucks, if wasn't for my daughter I wouldn't be here and as soon as her education is finished I'm out of here never to return.Quote:

I of course can only speak from my own experience but I remain here because of the many business opportunities which means I am constantly working on new interesting projects which is what I love to do.

The problem with your friend is that she obviously put in an original application that didn't satisfy the requirements hence the knock back and now she's appealing which will take forever and no guarantee of success much better to get the application right first time. How most people fuk up is that they think because they are British and got married that their partner should automatically have the right to live in Britain with them maybe a fair assumption but unfortunately the law doesn't see it that way and it's the law that matters, so people put in a shit application thinking it's their right and get told no.Quote:
