Key Similarities Between Your Home Region and Where You Live in Thailand
What would you say are some key similarities between your home country, region, state, province, county, administrative unit, or city...and your region of Thailand? (or, Thailand as a whole)
Whether serious or not.
Here goes. I'm from the US state of Texas (yeah, I know). Similarities between Texas and the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand:
- Pickup trucks as status symbols
- All sauces for food must first and foremost be sweet
- No destination within the region worth getting too excited about visiting
- Thinks its history is important, but others don't see it that way
- Loads of drunk drivers
- Accent frequently mocked in the media
- Rich from petrochemicals, but awfully polluted
- Top students leave the region as quickly as possible, but always end up coming back
- Everybody smokes weed, but shitty weed
- Suspicious of the illegals from just over the border, but need their labor dearly
