There was a good turnout for this ceremony, in total about 30 people. It was also attended by the new director of Phuket Airport and his senior staff, and they hastily erected tents close to the plane wreckage because of the rain yesterday.
Press from both Phuket and overseas also attended. A Buddhist blessing was performed by monks from Nai Yang temple and 2 German relatives of plane crash victims laid a wreath. Wreaths from my hotel and myself were also laid.
I am very happy that the new airport director attended at very short notice. His attitude seems much better than his predecessor.
I should also thank my ex who actually organised the majority of this ceremony since I'm not in Phuket. She has taken photos, so I'll try to get these uploaded in the near future.
There is a report also on the Phuket Gazette website.
